Google Map Update, Pinch Zoom, No Night Mode

100% for real. It is in the manual. Garmin handheld gps have you turn/spin counter clockwise to get calibrated. It really works for compass also. Most noticable if you are stationary.

Favorites are added after you enter an address or position and you mark it save as favorite. The ones their now are examples, which you can erase anytime.
Download Rmaps in the market for different maps.
 
what the heck is night mode? The images from google maps are old they are not like the same day lol are you guys confused?

haha maybe I am confused, so it's our droid changing to night mode not the images inside the map app?
 
Did you guys notice too that they improved the smoothness of the update rate? It doesn't jerk forward every second or so as you're driving, it just scrolls smoothly now. Awesome that they're making this so much better over time.

dumb question -- how do u delete the default favorites?
 
If,on your computer, you make a map and save it to your google account. Your phone will sync it and will appear under my maps. I use it for POI in different places.

Some of the favorites were part of a update and if you click on them they will add to your list. To delete? Go to google maps on your computer and edit history or on your phone you can go to menu- setting -manage apps-maps ,clear updates. Then reload updates in Market. Your extended list will be cleared.
 
now I just wish they would update the routes so that it gives you the fastest possible directions instead of going on all of the back roads that take an hour longer than normal...

What they need is an option of either fastest or shortest route.
 
I haven't seen anyone mention the new Labs options... maybe they happened before this update, but I just noticed new Labs options in Google Maps. Did anyone else notice them?
 
Yes, I use a few without a problem. You are basically turning your phone into a lab rat looking for bugs. Some of the labs have already made the cut and are know included.
 
I went to Android Market and did a search for "Google Maps" and I don't see any Google Maps update. What am I doing wrong?? (Sorry, new user here...)
