Help Google Maps always running?

Has anyone noticed that since the 3D update this app is always running? It seems to have coincided with my battery performing worse than ever, am I the only one?

have u tried to force stop it if yes then u should use a 3rd party app

Yep. It really bothers me. Today I unplugged at 5am. It's now almost 830am and I have 42% life left. Everytime I check battery usage, the maps percentage keeps rising. I also force stop constantly. It seems to be running again. And the total time of usage was 36 seconds. Its annoying. Some shead some light on this issue.

Make sure that you are NOT signed into latitude, also consider possibly turning off GPS until a solution is found.

Not signed in and gps is off, stand alone gps that is.
