I know there have been a few threads about this, but I didn't find any way to fix it. When i look on my break down of what is eating my battery it says that google maps is doing anywhere from 90-100% of my usage even if I haven't used maps at all. How do I fix this because it is driving my crazy.

It's not actually using your phone, data, or even GPS. This is a bug, it is reading the motion sensor. If you install Battery Left (a great app) it will show that Maps isn't using data, GPS, or even processor, just trying to access the sensor. Force kill it with System Panel, or restart your phone, and move on.
