Every time I install an update for Maps my map shortcuts/widgets get wiped out. I then have to re-add them. Is there a way to keep this from happening?
That shouldn't happen, but since the original version of Google Maps on your phone is likely the better (non-update GUI) version, I'd just not install any Maps updates. I don't install them because the new version sucks so bad.
With some apps on some updates it will do that to the shortcut. The only thing you can do is in settings, I think, or maybe playstore options, there is a setting to create a shortcut anytime you add a new app. Not sure if this works on an update but you could give it a try.
