Google Maps Update Unsuccessful???

For those that had the update work...what did the update add to Google Maps?

You can nav right off a map location and add stars (favorites basically), a much needed addition to places you travel to on a regular basis. Not sure if this is an addition or not, but can also avoid tolls and highways.
