Root Google Talk w/Video and Voice

[APP] Google Talk w/Video & Voice for 2.3.3 roms CONFIRMED WORKING!! - xda-developers

Anyone tried this for the latest GB leaks? It'd be great if this worked on our 2.3.3 roms. I'm going to try to flash it later after I make a nandroid.

I'm really curious if this will work on apex beta!
anyone, anyone? bueller, bueller? I dont think I will have time to test it tonight (and its probably not smart since i've been drinking... like a lot... fu**in caps...) so please if anyone tries it please report back!!

I have it installed. On my phone it shows my rear camera in the little box and the webcam of whoever I chat with in the big part of the screen. Video playback looks really nice on the phone, too... BUT, it doesn't quite work on the other side. The laptop we tested this on (through gmail) only showed my contact picture instead of my rear camera feed.... So, it looked like it was working fine on my phone, but the person I was chatting with thought it wasn't working (voice worked fine, though).

Also, it broke my ringtone settings. If I try to set a ringtone for any app through 'settings' I get force closes. I can still set my default ringtone using Doubletwist and Astro, though.

I don't see the value of using a video chat program if you only have a rear facing camera. I guess if you are using a rear facing camera AND a mirror, it might work. ;)

LOL! Didn't think of a ghetto option such as putting a mirror up to the rear camera. Was wondering how on earth it would work. Flip the phone around and say hi, then flip it back to see the person? Yeah...sux that the X doesn't have front facing camera.

I have used this a lot with Tango. Getto? Maybe. Better than nothing? Yep. I just stand in the bathroom with the phone propped on something. I small pocket type mirror would work as well. Or this.

It's something we're looking into at work for video conferencing, believe it or not. The rear facing camera is fine for this purpose.

Just because it is ghetto doesn't mean I'm beyond it. Where do I find such an accessory as above?
Edit: Nevermind. This is called iseeU and it's for iPhone 3GS only. Looks like I'll have to stick to bathroom mirror or there is a stand by vainworks that does a pretty good job but the camera placement on back of the phone is an important factor. For the X, it means you see your phone in half of the picture in portrait and 20% of it in landscape.

I got Google Talk 2 way video to work on My Droid X and here is how. I followed jm77's method from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...x#post13895326 post #399

1) Installed gapps-gb-20110503-signed
2) talk1.3.nowifi.v2-signed

In that order, but it wouldn't install just by installing a zip through clockwork recovery. I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=183

Audio & Video both 2 way worked very well but I noticed that Gmail would do a Force Close every time I tried to open it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

So i tried to run it in Apex 2.0 and it didn't work
Then inadvertantly deleted my regular Google Talk.apk

Anyone wanna help a brother out?
