Help Google voice draining battery

ubertoast

Lurker
I just installed google voice last night as I wanted to try it out. At first it seemed as if it was draining my battery faster. So I signed off GV, and my battery drain went back to normal (about 1% every hour in standby, whereas with GV it was about 1% every 20 mins)

Anyone experiencing this? And is there a way to use GV and not have the battery drain as much?

Something else I noticed, when I open up the GV app, I have to hit the back key twice to get out of it. Not sure if its a bug in the app, or if its supposed to be like that.

I noticed this too Uber, not a big issue though. Or just hit the Home key..

OP: No battery drain issues at all though.

I'm also having battery drain issue that I believe is caused by Google Voice. Sucks, cause I love it.

Anybody figure out any cures yet?

I haven't noticed the battery drain, though I have been using Google Voice since the first few hours I turned on the phone so I may just be used to it. It never shows up as a reason for draining the battery on the battery use thing - though I don't know if perhaps it would show up as something besides "Google Voice"... maybe "Android System".

And yes, I have the double back out bug as well. Not sure what the deal is with that.

I just reformatted the phone. Going to monitor battery life over the next couple days but may need to take this one back and get another one.

Off the charger for 5 hours today and 50 percent battery gone, with barely any use.

Will report back.
