Help google voice search server problem

hi there,
im having a problem with googles voice search. every time i tap the mic image, it brings up the "speak now" message box, but immediately it says "Server Problem". i am connected to the internet and logged into my google account.

google translates voice input works fine though.

i have a HTC sensation XE, running android 2.3.4
voice search version is 2.1.3

Seems you may not be the only one with this problem after a quick Google search. You could always try clearing the data for the app.
Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Apps>Google Search>Clear Data
