google wallet : more money!

Seconding that it is not even remotely obvious. For me, nothing happened until after I'd been playing with it for a while and noticed there was a wallet app in the app selection, when I could have sworn it wasn't there at all just an hour earlier. For me, the $10 occurred only when I checked out the wallet app, not the playstore wallet or through a browser selection.

And unlike most things google play it HAS to be done on the device... Unless Im missing something which happens all the time! I couldnt even find my "google pre paid card" under my online wallet. I did it all from the device... I even read the email they sent me about wallet and it wasnt 100% clear :(

Apparently I forgot to hit post reply when I asked this before, so I'll try again:

Does anyone know if making an NFC payment requires an active network connection? If so, you'll only be able to use NFC at places that not only take NFC, but are also hotspots :-).

No, you can do it without a data connection. It acts like swiping your card.

Nope, you've got it pretty much right. Wallet on one device can't see Wallet on another device OR online. Online wallet won't be able to see any of your Wallets on devices. It sucks because it splits payments all over the place. (If you want to talk about fragmentation on Android, this would be about the craziest case of it.) It's a small win though for getting multiple $10 sign-up bonuses. :p

Yep, after my questions earlier, I got confirmation from Google wallet on Twitter today.

@googlewallet is there a way to share one Google prepaid card between my #EVO4GLTE* and #nexus7 or do I have to maintain them separately?

@giftedplacebo Currently, no way to share one Google Prepaid card between two devices - the card is device-specific.

Interesting. I always thought you needed a data connection. I use GW all the time on my GN (several times/week). The one time the transaction wouldn't go through was when I was in the basement level of a Macys and had no data. So I figure you do need data.
