Wake the screen, the paypass thing will prompt you, hold the back of your phone up to it, put your pin in on the phone, that was it! No need to open the app

Man, I just installed the apk for this and signed up for the free $10 as well as adding a 30 spot of my own. I am salivating at the thought of trying this out the first chance I get. Thanks to the OP and everyone else for the tip and advice. Future, here we come!

Stopped into Rite Aid today and got a couple bars of soap and some paper towels on Google's dime. Worked instantly with no issues. Luckily it wasn't busy because I had to explain the whole thing to the clerk.
I'll probably just have $10 or $20 loaded on it for small fast food or drug store purchases. I like that it gives you the option to just load money on a Google Gift Card.

I used GW for the first time tonight! I would like to thank Google for a gatorade and reese's minis. I think I might go back and use my remaining $6.26 of google cash on some booze.
The girl behind the counter saw what I was doing (paying with my GNex), got this incredibly dumbfounded look on her face, then just started laughing hysterically. She went out of her way to get another cashier and tell her what I had just done. All I did was smile. That was really awesome.

I paid at McDonald's a few min ago...I had to actually go into wallet to get it to register tho. Has anyone else seen that?
I LOVE NERDS, this is hands down the kewlest thing about this phone today. Verizon tried to keep us locked up and some kick ass nerds beat Verizon down. Way to go!!! Cant wait to go and pay with my phone and watch some dipshit look at me like i was from the future. hahah thanks.

Nope only works in US.
It has been working fine on GSM phones with the 4.0.2 update.
I think you need 4.0.2 for it to work.

Yeah, just keep working at it from your computer. It will stick at some point. That's what I had to do.

I got the message about not downloading correctly or whatever after sending to myself in gmail. It installed and successfully added $100 to the gift card from google for a total of $110. Have yet to pay for anything though.

I tried at walgreens this morning. Couldnt get it to transmit. Woke the screen/unlocked the phone/opened the app. Nothing worked I was bummed I had to pay the old fashioned way

Seems like every time you read a thread you merge it.
What happens when you do that? I see no difference or obvious signs of it being done.

Stopped by 7-11 this morning to pick up a pack of gum. Placed my phone on the paypass terminal and the lady said i was using the wrong one...dang!

You sure Walgreens has paypass? I only ask because I have a few in my area and none of them show up on the paypass locator app
