Google Wallet question, add money to it?

So I got the free $25, but I want to buy a set of books for $32.46. Can I add the $7.46 difference so I can use the credit?

Thanks :) I think you're right and that makes me sad... what happens when it gets down to like $1.5... or like 30

Just called Google. Its just as you said. It cannot be combined. If you get down below $1, or an amount that there are no items to be had... you just lose that amount...

That kinda blows... : \ Looks like I'll be using Amazon market just to spite Google for this! (I'll use the 25 of course, but no more)

So you're going to spite Google for giving you $25 credit in Play and $10 credit in Wallet to make nfc payments? Those bastards.

I know.

I HATE it when I get something for nothing.

DAMN THE MAN.

Good to know that I will not be able to combine payment methods. Although if Google does another .10 sale your orphaned balance may not be orphaned anymore :D

What is a google prepaid card?
Go into Google Wallet, goto Payment cards, swipe to the left and there should be a greyed out Google Prepaid card. Click on it to add it and your $10 will show up as remaining balance.

I don't have a prepaid card to add though... And it won't let me add my visa debit card

Are you saying you don't have an EXISTING card to add, or that you are not given the option to add one in the google wallet app? You don't need an existing card, it will issue one when you click the grey card with the plus on it, and put $10 on it.

There are different rules per state. In california if your gift/prepaid card falls below $5, you can request that the vendor cash it out for you and they have to comply.

On your google wallet screen (the app not the play store wallet), it should have by default google pre-paid or gift card. The google prepaid is a virtual prepaid card. You can fund that card with another credit card.

I add money to the google prepaid card with my amex card.

Got mine to work. I have the $10 now. Sucks its independant of the $25 credit they give you for google play.

What can I use this $10 for? Where can I spend it?

Can I not use it on Newegg or Amazon?

The $10 is for pay transactions at physical locations. Google give it as in incentive for users to advance the technology.

Let say there are 1,000,000 N7's in the wild (SWAG) with $10 each to go buy stuff. We all go to McDonald's and buy lunch with our free $10. We are happy because we just cured our low cholesterol problem and sated are appetite on Google's dime.

Now, in some industry publication Google reports $10,000,000 in Wallet transactions in some predefined period and some other retailer says hey, people are walking around paying with their tablets, let me check this out.

It is all designed to legitimize and bring into the mainstream mobile payments.

That makes sense. I got the app. Next time I'm out ill look for a spot to use it :D

Wonder if I can buy gas with it :D I saw a gas station the other day with some sort of fast pass...

Last question... because my debit card is tied to it, if I go over $10, it will use my card yes?

So say I buy $15 in gas, I will be charged $5 on my card, and $10 for what's already on the pass?

That paypass locator will tell you locations that accept it. I'm not sure what happens when you run out, as I added money to the prepaid before I could add my debit card. I'll have to find out.
