Just wondering about this app, I know its new and you have to start somewhere, but I think I've seen 1 place that accepts the speedpass type of pay (think it was an Exxon gas station).

I love the idea, but are we actually years away from really being able to utilize this app/technology on a regular basis?

I believe the nexus s is the only available phone with google wallet right now but I could wrong. But in google wallet, it will give a list of places that accepts google wallet just like google places. It will direct you to closest store that accepts it

wow, thats cool. Smart for them to have a directory of where you can use it....its like they actually thought about it lol. Thanks you!

Hopefully, in the future more phones will have the capability of using google wallet but I'm not sure what the specifications are to use it. Hopefully, being an Evo 4G owner, this will be released at some point in time because, like you, this is some pretty cool stuff but hopefully it's not just cool stuff and it has some real world value to it:)

I believe Google Wallet is limited to Sprint right now and only on the Nexus S 4G. Here's hoping we'll see it on other carriers and NFC phones soon.

As for being years away from utilizing this tech, the US is lagging in this regard. As far as I'm aware, they already have systems like Google Wallet in place in Japan, Hong Kong, etc.
