Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

I'm still out running around with he phone an have been using the browser a ton. Out for about 6 hours and still at about 80%. So far I see this beating out my iPhone.

IM SHOCKED...my battery life is HORRIBLE..Just using email and texting/calling my battery last 12 hours...sounds like a lot, but remember thats with NO MEDIA usage at all.

Theres an App called "LOUDER VOLUME" by Meltus.
Goes a long way to refining audio loudness with handset speakers. No clue if itll work on lates Android builds but if you cant find his app look him up on XDA and shoot him a message hes very quick to respond.

Wont work you need root.

Posting this from my N1 in the wild now and working well on edge.

Tested the photo snap as you asked and after pressing to take the pic, it took about 2 seconds to focus then take the pic and after it took the pic about 1.5 seconds before I cousin snap again.

Fast!

I must know: Does the keyboard lag when typing in the browser? Be honest now.

Also, did we figure out how you got it? Are you an employee of google, in which case a genius?

Phone just alerted me to plug it in...its been 12 hours 30 min
.
That's quite a letdown :/ Hope the production version has a better battery.

A letdown ? Really ??

With the prosesser this phone has, animated backgrounds and who knows what else, I think 12 hours is amazing.

This is a "smart phone" and uses alot of battery. How long does your laptop/netbook battery last while in use ?

I think we all should be happy with even 6 hours of use.

By the way 3RD, I know beleave you. Sorry about doubting you. :D

Yes, definitely a letdown. That's 12 hours without the bells and whistles, even less with them turned on.

6 hours would mean the phone would have to be plugged in a total of 4 hours a day. For me, that is unacceptable. Heck, my PMP with a 500MHz dual core processor does about 50 hours.

Don't forget that the Nexus One has an AMOLED display which should use very little power, I expected it to at least make it through one day.

Also, my 3+ year old laptop does about 4 hours on one charge, in use.

if you want to use it to make phone calls. Unlocked means it is not tied to any particular carrier, ie you can pick who you want to use the phone with and what service you want( data, text, etc ).

Not tied to any particular carrier. Ha.

Customer: "Great, I'll take it to Sprint."
Sales guy: "I'm sorry, it doesn't support CDMA."
Customer: "Oh. Okay, I'll just use it with AT&T."
Sales guy: "Yeah, but just to forewarn, you won't be able to get 3G speeds."
Customer: "So WHO can I get 3G speeds with?"
Sales guy: "Just T-Mobile."
Customer: "Oh. So it is tied to a particular carrier."
Sales guy: "Ummm..."

Why is everyone so worked up? You can run this ROM on your Droid now. I've been running it for days now.

Yes you can run the modified Rom, but you cant run the Nexus One device.

The Rom has nothing to do with it. Its the screen, processer and many other things that make this device.

None of which is so much better then the Droid to make it worth the unsubsidized price.

Can you n1 owners please install the neocore benchmark form the android market and share the benchmark results here? The whole process should take you less than 3 minutes, including downloading the free demo, running it, sharing the score and optionally uninstalling the demo. Pretty please?
