Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

I did....not that great to be honest. The iphone and N1 both suck in sunlight. The nice addition on the N1, is there is a toolbar that by default is on the second window to the right of the home page. One of the buttons is a brightner. You can have it set to 3 settings by simply tapping it. Didn't do a hell of a lot because the screen is really like glass (I'm pretty sure it's glass). So their will always be a reflection unfortunatly.

as i expected, thanks man!

Unfortunately I don't have a cable that can do this. It does have the regular 3.5mm headphone jack though. I'm sorry about that man.
(

But you're saying, if I plug in the appropriate plug I should be able to put it in to the tv.? If so, what would be viewable? Are there any other phones that do this that I can look up so I can see the cable their using?

If you want to donate a few bucks I'll go and grab a cable from RadioShack and test it out.

(yes if its wired. what evers on the phone screen. the n900 does it. I will paypal u a little later. thanks 4 the response. The cable is a standard one with a 3.5mm jack on one end and rca (yellow, red, white) on the other.

FOLKS....all questions are definitely welcome and if you want me to run any tests on the phone please be precise and or even feel free to give me directions and Ill knock it out.

For doing this, if you all could hit me up with a donation I would gladly appreciate it. I'll be working for you all until phone release date!!!

Wow, thanks for that. I'll give you guys some number crunching to whet you appetite.

vs Droid
Graphics: 28.7 Vs 17 = Nexus ~69% faster
CPU: 695.65 vs 415 = Nexus ~68% faster
Memory: 322 vs 320 = Even. Not enough of a difference
Filesystem: 76 vs 73 = Even. Not much of a difference again.

Either-way some very very impressive numbers there... Almost 70% faster then the fastest available Android currently on the market. Thanks again 3rd-Geer.

I wasn't familiar with that benchmark up until you brought it up, thanks.
Is there a forum run by the staff that came up with the benchmark? It would be nice to see a graph with scores on current phones as well.

TBH, benchmarks don't always the whole story. But if they are extensive, they might. The other day I read an article on a Snapdragon CPU with a GPU but I got blasted for it at the beginning of the thread. I had no idea it wasn't used for the N1 though.

Maybe that version of the CPU will be used for the true G1 replacement?
(please, no chin and >1500 mAh)

There are two benchmarks for droid on this page: Ratings and comments about Benchmark for Android
showing memory scores of 273.1 and 285.2, which is a reasonable improvement... just contributing to the body of knowledge.

*EDIT*
Comparing specs: ROM/RAM
Nexus1 = 512/512 (unconfirmed)
Droid = 256/512

Folks, I'm writing up a review and taking additional pics from every angle of the phone. I promised first rights of it to another blog, but after theirs is live I'll be posting a new string here with all of the info.

One more iPhone vs. N1 comparison test. (BTW, it's awesome you have both for making these direct comparisons possible!)

In previous posts you say EDGE on N1 is as fast/faster than 3G on iPhone.
Perhaps downloading large files will change or in some way quantify these results for us.

The following is a 10 minute youtube video. Can you time how long it takes to FULLY download the video on each phone? I understand if you don't want to watch/listen to the video just pause it, it will continue to download. ;) Perhaps even run the test multiple times per phone and get an average time for each.

I realize this test may be somewhat time-consuming, don't take any more time than is convenient, but I think the results will be very informative.

Again, thanks in advance!

Sweet ...........Thanks man you'v been hella helpful.!

Heh, I find it funny they're calling their article "Exclusive".
We've had our own "hands-on" in the form of this thread for 5 days now. :D
Not to mention the opportunity for Q&A.

Having said that, there were some interesting tidbits in that article. ;)

to be fair they did provide us with some nice pictures and video, but yea, the majority of the internet have no idea it was here first :p

1. Does the trackball have multi colored LED notifications or are they elsewhere on the phone ?

2. Does the Gallery feature 3d effects and swiping ?

Compared to Iphone how quickly can you scroll form pic to pic ?

The trackball doesn't actually have multi colored LED. It's just white. There is a tri-colored LED that is at the top left of the phone, next to the earpiece.

AHHH VERY GOOD QUESTION....

The Gallery does have a VERY VERY cool 3D effect. It looks very much like paper vision. When you open up the gallery, the folders for each set of pictures are spread out as a stack of pictures with the folder name under it. When you select one they all spread out in to columns. When you navigate up down and left and right on those pictures theypush back and forth as one big piece of paper if you can kind of get the idea. The whole thing shifts until you select an image.

It's very very cool.

1. Cool long as it has it somewhere.

2. Yup Im familiar. Glad they implemented something "Sexier". Love the premise of the design.

Also. This is a rather large file 17 mb but its an HD trailer ripped off YT. 720p.

Wondering if it will playback on Nexus since it seems recording maxes out at 480p.

Just read your blog review 3rd Gear, good stuff :)
Still two major questions for me...
DivX Support?
and this rumor about video output in the headphone jack?
