got my wisdom teeth out yesterday morning...

I had mine out in March... They bled for a couple days. I think it is normal. In a week you will be back to (semi) normal. It took me about a month to completely heal up, but I am so much better off than I was. They were wreaking havoc in my mouth. As much as it sucks right now, you will be fine and probably much better than you were soon.
 
Bleeding will stop, give it time. I was 'lucky', they removed 5 at once, yup had a little extra one. 1 week of the chipmunk look and T3's with codine.
 
Lol, I swear that that was the EXACT analogy I was told after my wisdom teeth were taken out.
 
ROFLMAO... Kelmar that was hilarious!

I had four removed... on my 30th birthday. Only plus side to the experience was that, back then, the markets were selling these ready-to-eat frozen milkshakes. I stocked up my freezer and practically lived on them for several days following the surgery! :D

Did any puss come out of your mouth? or did you swallow it? :p I have 2 wisdom teeth that I'm afraid to have removed. They haven't caused havoc in my mouth... yet.

Ya'll are lucky... I had mine ripped out in boot camp.

Needless to say, mine bled for about a week. Yay for doctors who... really don't care much because they get sick of their jobs.
 
I've got one growing sideways out of my gums...too scared and too broke to have it removed....I know that it will be worse the longer I wait,especially since part of its now broken off,but I can't pay my deductible (even in installments) or take the time off work....I've dealt with it about a year so far....meh...
 
yea apparently my luck is awesome because it's day 4 and i still feel like shit. and one of them is still bleeding a little haha story of my life! :rolleyes:
 
I'm telling you, I think it's normal... Mine were impacted, like ^ Kelmar said. It is a pretty serious surgery, and not to be taken lightly. Hope your feeling better dude....
 
i think one of them was. i know it was coming in sideways. thats the one thats still bleeding. but what's weird is that one on the other side had a cyst and was cut out to where they couldnt even stitch it, and it clotted up just fine! so i dont know what the deal is. it seems like its trying to clot but it just cant stay that way for some reason. today it got much worse so tried putting more gauze and some teabags on it, but every time i took them off it would take the clot with it. i went over to my parents house earlier and my dad was thinking maybe if i try to keep it dry it will clot better, just not even put gauze on it since it's just ripping the clot out anyway. so right now im typing with one hand, and with the other im holding a blowdryer (no heat) up to my mouth. LOL :p
 
I had one removed a few years ago. (I was born with just one, go figure!) It wasn't causing me any problems at all, but it developed a cavity and the dentist said it may as well come out. They put me under and I literally do not remember a thing. (they give you drugs that give you temp amnesia, seriously! Google "Sedation Dentistry) I don't think I bled very much. I was sore for a few days, that was it.
 
HAHA yea they gave me some vicodin but i havent taken much of it. i still have percocet from when i got my tonsils out two weeks ago. i really should have waited longer between surgeries i think bahahah

anyways, update:
i feel good now, bleed stopped monday night. you'll never believe it but my dad's blowdryer idea worked better than anything so far. i mean it was bleeding pretty bad and i just held my mouth open with the blowdryer blowing cool air on it for a half an hour, which let it get real dry. and then it was done. no more! :) hopefully ill be ready to play some music by saturday, because i have a big music festival to play at around 2pm!
 
Be careful keeping it dry! You could get what they call a "dry socket" where the wound heals open, almost with the bone exposed. Not fun, from what I understand. Not too much they can do to fix it, but let it run it's course.
