Got some questions? think they're stupid? POST 'EM HERE

Need a little more info. Did you install any new apps when this started? Or do you just have a lot of apps? How many widgets are you using? Have you tried clearing cache? Etc...
 
Communication device? I thought this was strictly a mobile internet/ROM flashing gadget. You learn something new every day lol.

um? yea... there is that (*cough*) slight problem with most (dare I say all) huawei ascends and other android.. equipped.. devices...
Our ancestors I think called it "a phone".
For them it was a way to easily communicate with one another and include important social/emotional cues that are completely missing with modern sms, text, irc, and w.o.w.

It might be fun to just try using it (the phone) to communicate and TALK with as a hobby or alternative to w.o.w. Kinda like how some of our great-grandparents communicated with their slice of HAM RADIO for fun.

Personally, I go for in person normal communication, much more efficient.

can someone tell me of a good USB Micro SD card reader, i brought one for 99 cents & it wont read on my PC.
 
I got one at Fry's Electronics for around 5 bucks. It looks like a thumb drive, it's green, and works great. Can't remember what brand because in not at home.
 
Don't know if anyone is having any issues with this or not :confused:, but since I've updated the android to 2.2, I didn't really even notice this before I updated it but everytime I make a call, the speaker button gets covered by the dial pad tab and Idk how to remove it??? It drives me crazy because if I want to put someone on speaker, I have to hit menu then hit speaker, but I shouldn't have to if it's already there.. did something didn't update right?? Please help! thank you!!
 
I am currently running PlayfulGod CM7.2 07282011 on My MetroPCS huawei ascend


when i download any application, and it goes to the second step,
where it says installing, it just freezes, and reboots itself. To see what i mean:

Anyways, once you've seen that video (just the beginning not the rest),
I now what is causing that problem... But before i do that, before i made that video I installed DT's a2sd on it (Moved all apps + Dalvik code).

So i guess moving all the apps (a2sd reinstall in Terminal Emulator) caused this. Not sure why though.

SO if you had this problem, can you please tell how to fix this? with all user apps moved to the SD w/ DTa2sd.

P.S: In the video i used TitBu as an example, what happened in that video, happens to all app inside the market!
 
I had that problem before. I think it was because I overlooked the fact that DTA2SD was included in the 0728 rom, and flashed it again. Wiped & Reflashed, problem solved.
 
i just put cm7 on my phone and cant get the google apps to work now does anyone know how to fix this problem i keep getting errors or force closes it says there installed market wont let me add device either

take battery out for ten seconds then try again
 
done that. I have tried every link every zip file you name it i can get to the files on my phone but when i go to install them it says applicatio not installed. Im not sure if there is something im overlooking or something i did wrong when i flashed to cm7 i did it all ota through rom manager. But i noticed now that i dont think my wifi is working either if anyone has anyclue what i might of deleted and how i might be able to get it back PLEASE HELP!!! lol I will say cm7 is incredibly fast however i would reallylike to get this things fixed. Im pretty new to this as you all may know. But now that im getting the hang of it i domnt want the end result to be me having to go buy another phone to get my system apps back if i somehow deleted them lol

You definitely don't have to buy another phone. It's super easy to flash back to stock.
I used ROM Manager to put on the latest CWM, and I keep it around and, but I flash manually. The only issues I have anymore are bad downloads, or lazy Ascend problems with certain builds. If I couldn't get things rolling, I'd just reflash everything again. It's not a big deal.
If you want to try another way, check out tokenpoke's guide. I do it pretty much like that, with the newest CM7 builds and gapps, which I get from Prepaid Android.

Maybe you should remove everything off your card and give it a good, full format on your puter, than maybe format it (and partition it if you wish) again with CWM. Can never hurt to renew what you can, and check for errors in the process.
I've done this a few times, and have never had a problem with this way...

Make sure all your contacts are backed up with you Google account(s) and synced,
make sure you have the latest CWM, install it with ROM Manager,
pull the battery,
pull the card,
slip it in the computer,
move any media and the Titanium Backup folder to my computer,
do a full format (not a quick one),
pop it in the phone,
pop in the battery,
reboot into CWM,
format it,
partition it,
pull the battery,
pull the card,
slip it back into the puter,
add my zips, my Titanium Backup folder, and the New Market app .apk (cause I like the new market app),
pop it back into the phone,
pop in the battery,
reboot into CWM,
flash the zips according to tokenpoke's method.

After it all restarts, I usually skip the Google sync, get the phone to homescreen, turn on WiFi, then add accounts and sync with Google. Install the Vending.apk, download Titanium Backup from market, restore apps w/ data (never system data, it always screws up for me, and if it's a new build from my last Titanium Backup, I install app only without data, sometimes it can mess things up), and viola!
 
this really has me puzzled even when i try to restore my backup through rom manager it re installs cm7 not froyo. Is there an easy way to wipe everything mem card and all and start from scratch. All the zip files i get to my phone but when i open them in the app manager it wont install them i even tried to install zip form on in recovery mode.

Look at the post right above yours. It will do a completely new flash of everything. If you aren't using Titanium Backup, just go to the Android Market, look at My Library, and redownload your apps from there.
If you're looking to go back to stock, so you can redo your 2.2 update, don't worry about adding any zips from the computer. Instead, after formatting your card, put it and your battery back into your phone, and follow Jazziette's guide.
 
thats my whole problem when i try to go to the market it says u must add a device now would you lke to do so. i say yes but it doesnt do anyhting. if i could just resolve the market issue i could just get the gapps from rom manager ota like i did cm7 right?

I just edited that last post, BTW.

But yeah, you can. You don't have to, but you can. You can work around the market altogether with tokenpoke's guide, though.

What happens when you go to Market > My Market Account, Settings? Does it not show? Are you logged in with the right account?
 
i really dont wanna go back to stock thats what got me into this mess since it was so slow is it necessary to go back to stuck to get my market working again or can i do that with the process you explained above?
 
it wont even let me get that far into the market as soon as i click to open thats when it says i must add a device
 
cm7 for sure thanks for the help by the way im new to androids. My goal is cm7 i just want to do whatever it takes to get everything to sync up like it used to

If you can't flash CM7 again using ROM Manager, use tokenpoke's guide. You don't need market, and you don't need ROM Manager. If you already are rooted, and have CWM installed, it should be straight forward.
Hopefully your contacts were already synced with your Google account, so you won't lose them. And put any pics or music or anything on you computer so you don't lose them either.
If you read everything he says, and follow step by step, you should reflash CM7 fine. Just remember to get the newer versions of the zips he links to from here instead of the links he has.
You COULD try reinstalling the gapps with CWM, but I'm not sure how that works, or if it even does.
BTW, did you try Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market and hit the Clear data and Clear cache yet?
 
How can i move user apps (LP) into system apps w/o using TitBU?
I don't think i wana pay $8 for the PRO version. So how can I?
