Help Gparted can't format ext3 partition

Hi all,

Finally got my Desire back. Tried to create 1Gb ext3 partition on my SD card but got an error. However, Gparted can format ext2 partition with same size.

Am I having a bad SD card or what? Thanks in advance.

Hi danfrance & Rastaman, I am on my way to work now. Will try to get the error message when I am home. Would like to get everything prepared to root my phone again. Thanks.

That's very weird! I tried another 1Gb card today and formatted ext3 successfully. Then I switched back to the original 16Gb card and ext3 created...:confused::confused:

Thanks anyway.

edit: I tried to create a goldcard this time. When I go to androidsdk\tools\adb devices. My serial number doesn't show up. It only said "List of devices attached". Something wrong?

Reboot the phone and pc?

Hi danfrance,

I followed below link to create a goldcard.

How To: Create a Goldcard | TheUnlockr

I pressed back + power button and then connected my phone to PC. After that I typed "adb devices" command. Since I rooted my phone with the same laptop before, not sure if those already installed drivers mess thing up?

Finally, I think I created a goldcard successfully following TheUnlockr procedures.

However, I can't root my phone with unrEVOked 3.2. It gave me Validation error: Backup CID is missing... :(

My phone detail is:
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-ON
Hboot-0.93.0001
Microp-051d
Radio-5.11.05.27

Thanks a lot danfrance.

Edit: Sorry. It seems to be a bit complicated to me.
When it said: "Please ensure you have downloaded the other stuff file on the second post before continuing and have extracted it to C:\root." I can't find other stuff to be downloaded.

Those are like adb commands, shouldn't I go to my androidsdk\tools\ to execute them?

Also, I am completely lost with below:

(If you’ve done hex editing before, all you do is put the CID you got above in at position 0 then add a 00 at the end so the hex string looks something like “48 54 43 5F 5F 30 30 31 00“)

Make sure you save the file that we give you back to C:\root\adb overwriting the original misc.img file.

Anyone can help me please? I tried unrEVOKed 3.14 too but it failed to push recovery image... Thank you.

Update: Issue solved. Got help from rootmydroid IRC.
