Root GPartition - Well stumped

yes it will take it back to stock, but its worth it. I say do it. If it still happens, its hardware cause all the software is replaced with official. if not, maybe GV just doesnt work on your phone.

That's a good point. Taking that on board, and in an effort to avoid having to run unRevoked again, do you think there's any benefit in running abn alternative GB ROM such as Oxygen or the MUI 2.3 ROM before I go back to stock? I'm also thinking that I started to have problems with DeFrost too...

I guess the other question is whether HTC will tock my phone since I've rooted it, instaled non-official ROMs, and S-Off'd it...?

If you can RUU back to stock, if it has the same Rom as it came with (I.e branded / unbranded) then it will be fine

why waste your time? it takes 2 mins to root and about 5 mins to s-off.
i think its important you find out

Fair enough guys. Silly question, but where can I find a standard Froyo RUU - and I presume I flash it in the usual way?

Thanks Dan!

Seem to have a bit of an issue though. I've got my Goldcard in the phone, plugged the phone into the PC, and the HTC driver was installed. Fine. I then run the downloaded RUU, and the wizard starts fine and I think everything is going ok. I get to the point of no return, hit "Next", and get this screen:

And then after a while got this:

After I exited the phone rebooted fine, so no USB brick at least... Any suggestions?

Aaaaaah. Ok. Bizarrely though, the phone started first time this morning after being unplugged first. Still worth the RUU reflash?

Fair enough! I'm properly mystified to be honest, although I'd be very happy for the storm to have passed! Toying with the idea of flashing GV 1.7 too - I mean, what's the worst that can happen?!?

Thanks again for all your help, both you and Rasta.

Right. I'm going to whisper this as I'm sure I'm about to jinx it, but... My phone seems to be behaving itself again. I have no idea whatsoever what fixed it, as I have just been doing what I've been doing all along, but for the last three mornings now it hasn't frozen on boot. Anyhoo, I'm keeping an eye...

Righty. What I hope is the final update. Flashed GV 1.8, then Gviollet, then the RIL, and the phone is starting as it should. As I said, I don't know what I did - or indeed didn't do - but the problem seems to have gone away. One thing I have taken to doing is unplugging the phone from the power supply before turning it on. I don't know if this is making any difference but I'm making hay while sun shines!

Thanks for all your help, guys!

I've quickly scanned this so I haveney read it properly but I'll wager your problem is the ril! After a flash I always wait until I know that all is stable, then Nandroid BU, then flash the ril.

The ril and radio are definitely a good partnership, but the rom that your using also has its own ril (sometimes not as generic as I thought), that your overwriting.

Proceed with care!
