Gps issue

I downloaded and installed the CODENAME ANDROID jelly joyride rom and had same problem with gps. I used it for a couple of days and found the updates listed above for gps and sensor fix. Installed and been happy ever sense. Gps locks fast and works perfect, all apps that use gps also works perfect.:D

Just out of curiosity, did you follow thier steps to install, as they recommend useing el29.....or did you use the root in this forums that uses agat.

I am asking because I am going to try that rom out to see if it's truely the rom itself or the gapps.

If it IS the rom I can eat crow and honestly am willing to :).....especially if it's the rom thats the issue.

Sorry I am REALLY tired right now, and I guess I'm not thinking to well :0.

I forgot that EL29 is ICS kernel, agats is JB, at least that's what I'm told, and that if I am going to use JB to stick with agats kernel.

EL29 is a gingerbread kernel used for flashing. the Agat kernel linked in the root guide is a TW ICS kernel packaged with AGAT recovery.

Ok thanks for the correction.

My brain is kinda turned to mush with all the gps stuff.

It looks like I'm going back to stock rom until they can get this stupid gps lock issue fixed. I did find out however, the gps lock on issue is from the rom, not gapps as I had thought so I apologize if I mislead anyone.

I've tried fixes, 3 different roms (APOK, CM10 unofficial, and CODENAME ANDROID jelly joyride rom, all 3 are plagued with the same issue.
Sad day in my neighborhood, but oh well least I know it's not a hardware issue.

Ive read the EPIC 4G TOUCH will be getting JB in december. Havent read if Boost mobile is are isnt, just that E4GT is.

Even if Boost doesn't push it, I'm sure we'll be able to flash the update to our phones anyway manually.

Hi alpha2k, I installed using the instructions on the page, after installation I tried the rom to see how everything was working. Everything looked good but the gps, was like a 180* off and half the time it would not lock. I found the gps fix and installed it, also I installed the Alpha updates, rebooted and all is well. I hope this helps.

Being 180* off is just is just us trying to be more compatible with Apple's iPhone's maps (umm err did I Say that?). LOL. I am glad you have your gps running good though :D
