Help GPS wont work in google maps..but its on?

So I just bought a note 2 today and I absolutely love it.!!!!

One concern is though that when I go into google maps, and my gps is turned on its still tries to use cell tower aprox location. On my galaxy S2 when GPS was on in google maps it showed the GPS symbol in the notification bar that its working and my location is spot on.

I tried going in to settings and couldnt find anything and settings in maps and couldnt find anything..

any help please? Its probably such a easy answer too

Try this, if GPS is enabled, then go to the Play store and download an app call GPS status, then open it once installed and let it lock in, make sure you are outdoors, once it gets a lock, then try your Google Navigation, report back

yes its shows its activated in the notification bar. its 'green'

He doesn't seem to be seeing the gps notification symbol on this like he does his S2.

yes I have it turned on apparently in the notification bar but it doesnt seem to be using the GPS in google maps so my location is WAYY off the mark

yes I have it and I opened it but it just says 'looking for GPS signal' and wont lock in. I was outside

Hi

If it wont lock in outside with that app after a few minutes and a reboot doesnt help, I would take it straight back as being faulty and get another.

Tap and hold the GPS icon in the notification bar. Are all 3 boxes (Wifi, GPS Satellites, Google) checked?

update.. I just reset the phone (power off then on) and it seems to be activated now in maps and GPS apps.

thanks for everyones help. thought I had a bunked unit lol.

PS. this phone is SWEEEEETTTTTTT
