Great forum but y is there so much bitching

Hi all, i just wanna say how useful i find this forum iv got some great info using the search bar iv managed to root my phone using this forum but y is there so much bitching going on? Someone posts a topic and instead of useful help they get ripped for asking a stupid question iv noticed this within the last month and i gotta say its intimidating for new members anyways like i said before i find this forum great but for how much longer lol
 
Why start a thread asking about it. :rolleyes: There is a lot of banter here but I wouldn't say people are "ripped on".
 
Been here two weeks & I'd wager it may be frustration over a mix of simple questions easily searched for being asked repeatedly or someone wanting all the info on the 2.1 upgrade which no one has yet. Or possibly extra crankiness because this seems to be taking SE forever to get the update to their loyal fans & we all want it asap.

I personally haven't thought it was worse than any other forums I visit.
 
If you see something you find that you don't like the look of please use the report button so a moderator can take a look at it.

I can see where you are coming from in some respects, I think there is a fine line between having a laugh and a bit of banter and outright rudeness. I think it is important for all posters to remember that people are asking questions for a reason and that if you haven't anything constructive to say then don't bother responding. It would be an awful shame to lose potential users or put off existing users by poor behaviour.

lol this place is quite nice compared to most forums i've been too, you think its bad here goto the official x10 site, there are some wonderful little trolls there and an amazing mod ;-) suze.. its just forums in general, if someone ticks you off like rose said report them and i would just close the page for the day and move on (its not the real world)
 
You're right in some way, but most of the time people post threads that have been posted multiple times already and that's why it sometimes turns into a banter
 
I know I have posted it before but there are site rule and regulations, no question is a dumb question... it is down to you whether you reply or not. If you are going to reply be contructive, if not keep quiet - it's really that simple.
 
and if the reply is constructive, don't argue that its incorrect - otherwise there's no point asking the questions in the first place
 
i hear what your saying richardsilv and reading around your not the only one to notice this - some "volunteers" think they rule this forum and have there fingers ready to put people down at the earliest opportunity! There is a time and place for "banter" but not on every topic or when the topic is set up for help other users (makes finding the info u need even harder as when you go through the post if its not related you tend to look at another one)

I used to look in here everyday but as i kept getting jumped on for trying to help the forum out... i dont bother anymore!!

If the question had been asked / answered loads of times - i never bothered replying as the info is there, and if i can find the info i am sure anyone can!!

Good luck with your x10, its a great phone even though having (in my eyes) many flaws.....
 
you think people bitch here try asking something on the xda forums. Its pretty pathetic really. I like the little banter people have here rather than be shouted down, threads locked the second someone goes off track or if the question was asked 15 pages previously.
