Help green hornet movie question

Does anyone know if the green hornet license expires after so long or if we have it forever?!?

HTC support would be the best place to ask. All we can do is assume. So far once you download the first license, the file will work offline. I tested it in airplane mode and it will run offline. However, the DRM may require a weekly, monthly or yearly check. If that's the case then the file might disable itself after a certain period of time. Or the file might always work as long as you are viewing it from your current EVO 3D. There's no way of knowing unless we ask HTC or try to go through all those possible scenarios.

With the qHD display I was under the impression we'd get the standard 16:9 ratio, eliminating the black bars on the top and bottom, but this doesn't seem to be the case with the Green Hornet. Is it just the recording type they used (is it 720p)?

Not all movies are shot in 16:9. Many are using wider formats, so you'll still get black bars (though they should be smaller on the 16:9 screen than whatever ratio the evo 4g was).

If anyone could upload the stock sd card contents and post or pm a link, it'd be much appreciated. I figured the movie would download from HTC watch since you needed an account before it would play...too bad I didn't read before formatting the SD card and installing a bunch of stuff on it.

what else have you done to troubleshoot? did you do a battery pull? a soft reset form the shutdown menu (the one that states you will lose temp files, etc ).

did you remove any apps or install anything?

i copied the file over form one card to another and it worked right away. is the original folder still on the original 8 gb card? did you try the file from there?

Hi,

Selecting "restart" did the trick. Thanks...GP

I, too, am unable to watch the Green Hornet movie. At first, I didn't know why it wasn't playing. I then read it was on the pre-loaded SD card. So I stuck the card in my laptop, and plugged in my 3VO and transferred it over. However, HTC Watch STILL says there are no videos. It's in the folder it should be. :\

Upon further review, I'd like to thank lion2 for stating the location of the movie. When I transferred the folder over, I stuck it too deep. I cut the "preloaded_movies" folder and pasted it under the "HTCWatch" folder. I then tried the watch the movie, and it came up. So if you're having problems with not being able to find it, make sure all the files in the folder are under the correct folder and are properly named.

You're welcome! I'm glad my post helped someone.

So if it was preloaded on the sd card is there any way to get it back? I installed my old sd card from my evo and shipped the evo off after formatting the card.

I called sprint to see why the movie want playing and I was told an update will be given out on monday. Will I get it back you think?

It's possible, but I'm more intrigued by the update coming monday. Did they say what it would entail?

I emailed HTC. I copied all the files from the original 8gb to my 16gb. I can't find it either. I didnt do anything to the original sd card and went back to it.. And its not there. I looked @ the path Lion2 stated but I don't have that HTC watch folder.

She just said it was going to allow people to actually watch the movie. She said they've had a ton of complaints.

I only take sprints word with a grain of salt, I've been told multiple times by them one thing when in fact what they told me was wrong or they were just plain lying.

people can actually watch the movie now.. i copied the two folders off the 8gb card over to the 32 gb i use and had no issues. maybe it has something to do with how the updates were installed.. maybe moving files pre or post updates caused this?

also sprint SP mods have been really good with this evo 3d launch the last 2 weeks and within the last few days they have been helpful.

HTC emailed me back.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to watch 'Green Hornet' on your HTC Evo 3D, Travis.

Unfortunately, at this time, we are aware of an issue with playing the movie "Green Hornet"; This is definately an issue on our end.
At this point in time, we do not have a fix, but we are currently working to address this issue. We do not currently have an ETA for a fix.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, Travis.

So I guess I have to wait. the movie wasn't that good but heard it looked great on the EVO3D in the US Today Review..

My Green Hornet plays great, and it is the shizat best 3D feature on the phone.

1. Set up a watch account
2. Go to notifications, and download updates. There was a long one (good chance to use 4G) that I think fixed the issue.

After the update, the license downloaded quickly, and the movie plays easily.

Before the update, it was in a hopeless 'downloading license' or 'buffering' forever mode to get to the movie. Worth the wait.

Does anyone have a time stamp from the movie where the 3D is very apparent and nice looking?

I'm thinking about making a mental note for when someone asks me to see what the 3D is like and I can cue up this movie to a good part. It has a very clear picture compared to some of the 3D youtube stuff I've seen.

the first scene out the gate is worth showing. the opening clip from columbia pictures is in 3D. the fact that you do not need glasses to view this in 3D on a mobile handset is enough to cause people to ooh and ahh.. .i showed to a couple folks and they were just at a loss of words... so pick a spot..

alright perfect thanks f the answer...but for some reason my movie of the green hornet doesn't look 3d at least not like camera 3d for some reason???

I watched the green hornet all the way through yesterday & it looked good in 3d but when I went to show it to someone today It's not playing in 3d anymore...anyone else experience this?
