Help Gs2 wifi won't turn on...

Well I upgraded my phone to ics 4.0.4 and ever since then my wifi won't turn on at all! It was working before I had upgraded...I need help ASAP! :/

Have you restarted your phone since updating? Have you tried a factory reset? Its needed sometimes after updating.

yes.. ive factory reset my phone.. ive done everything there is :/

Hmm .. that's strange. How did you update? You can try using that guide and doing it again.

So is the option greyed out or what? What happens when you try it?

i updated threw samsung kies... ever since ics ive been having this wifi problem i just updated to 4.1.2 but no luck :/

I'm not sure why the WiFi would stop working after updating.

Did you try it again using that Odin guide? Is your phone the sgh-t989?

yes ive done it several times... and yes its sgh-t989 model

So in jellybean, in settings, can you even slide the WiFi button to on?

When you pull down the notification window in jellybean, there's a toggle for WiFi. Does that work?

when i do that the wifi icon stays dark green.. like its trying to turn on but wont

Try turning on airplane mode, turn it back off and try WiFi again.

I'm starting to think it may be something wrong with the hardware.

You could try going back to gingerbread to see if it works but I don't know why it would be different.

Go to settings > about phone. Do you have an IP and Mac address?

Also, try WiFi Manager from the play store. See if you can connect with it.

Hello I just encontered that issue on my galaxy and I took out the sim card and battery for about 20 seconds put it back in and bam!!! I had wifi again give it a try at least thought I would try to help.
