GS3 Case discussion thread

I think its obvious that if the person wanted a case with more protection they would given a link to a case with more protection...when you look at a case that is "ultra thin", you know what you are getting. People don't buy cases just for protection. It can be for style or making the phone feel better in your hand. Every time I view this thread, It seems I find you always telling people that their slim cases will not protect their phone. I understand you might be trying to be a good citizen, but if I were to post on here asking for people's opinion on slim cases, I don't want a recommendation for bulky protection case.

I don't have this exact case, but I have a very similar one. Amazon.com: [Alpine White] Samsung Galaxy S3 Rearth Ringke SLIM LITE Premium Coated Hard Case - Rearth Eco Package: Cell Phones & Accessories

If your case is like mine, its perfect for what you are looking for. Let me know what you get.

I ended up ordering the Spigen case to try out and I LOVE the way it looks but it makes the phone feel a little to slippery for me. Ive dropped it a few times already(luckily only onto my carpet) just because the case made it slip out of my hands. Is the Ringke case slippery or does it actually provide grip as advertised?

I know what you mean. I currently use two cases. A white(like yours) and a black one. The one I showed you is a little slick, if that is not what you want, let me recommend you my other case.

It's more thin then your previous case (I think) but it gives a good grip. I know they both say polycarbonate, but the Incipio feels much different.

I would definitely give that case a shot if it came in white. I've used the Incipio feather case before and liked it, but I really want to keep my phone all white with the case. Thanks tho!

I got the Otterbox Defender today in the mail. I have already determined I cant stand it. The lip on the side around the screen is so tall it interferes with anything that I need to press riding on that side. I am not sure why they made it so high up from the phone. My nexus case didnt have such a predominate ridge line. I may just got get the case from VZW that matched the color of the phone and use my belt pouch rather than a clip

I have used an otter box commuter for the last week and do really like it. It adds needed bulk IMO and I know its protected from an drop I'll give it. Protection is more important to me than how a case makes my phone looks and with this case I an not worried about leaving the house with my phone.

Got it from amazon for around $20

I just got this one: Amazon.com: BLACK Texture With Holster Faceplate Hard Plastic Protector Snap-On Cover Case For Samsung Galaxy S3 SIII (AT & T)(Verizon)(Sprint)(T-mobile): Cell Phones & Accessories
I don't like it at all and I'm glad I didn't spend much more than $3.00 for it.
Out of all the cases I've bought so far, this is the only one I took back immediately after putting it on.
I got my daughter the white 16g S3, I gave her one of the cases I bought, but once my defender comes in, I think I'll give them all to her and she can change them up as much as she wants... LOL

I just got my white/grey Otterbox Commuter. Its nice but it makes the phone way too thick for my liking. I think i'm gonna return it and get this one instead Amazon.com: SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Case Ultra Thin Air Hard Case Protection Carrying Cover FREE Ultimate Clear Steinheil Screen Protector Cover Film Shield Skin for AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, International, 3G, US, LTE, i9300 - Smooth Whi

Anybody try this one out yet?

I have this one in Mint Green. I really love it. Like you, I don't like thick bulky cases and don't need much protection, except maybe from scratches. I got this specifically because I loved the color and it looks really good with my white Galaxy S3.

The color is a little off here because it's dark but it's a bit brighter and slightly more blue than this.

I love this case too. I have it in silver. I dropped it today and surprisingly it protected my phone.

It seems pretty likely that the price listed is an error. There's nothing about this case that would make it cost more than $5 or $10. That happens fairly often on Amazon from what I've seen. I just bought a new text book for about $20. There were quite a few others, new and used for around the same price. Or, I could buy the used one at the bottom of the list for $1900. Um...It's a used textbook that's only a few years old. Just like the phone case, clearly a mistake.

I got the Case-Mate Pop in pink and white looks great on my white phone! The kickstand is flimsy but I probably won't use it anyways. LOL

I actually have the same case in white. I really like the way it looks but it is too slippery for me. I dropped my phone numerous times with it on because it slipped out of my hand. I put my Otterbox back on for now, even though I really don't like this one either

I have this case also and hate it! It is the only case I can say I hate. It makes the phone feel heavy. It also feels like the phone is going to slip out my hand. It does not have much grip on it. It was one of the first cases I got. I should have returned it.

Hey funny, I emailed Incipio about the possibility of them making a white version of the feather and they wrote back and said they don't offer it in white to the general public but that they do make it for specific carriers to sell in white. She sent me the link to get it in white so I think I might give it a shot. Here's the link in case you were interested

Man. I haven't tried using my phone naked since the day I got it and stuck it in my Incipio silacrylic.

This feels so sexy. I think if I did this for a few days I could never go back.

I'm looking for a leather case that does NOT have a cover that covers the screen. Does anybody know of any good ones? All I can seem to find are ones that have a flip cover that covers the screen or are a pocket or pouch style.

Thanks!

after getting my tpu very thin case i am happy and annoyed, happy that it protects (dropped my phone 2x already and not a scratch) but annoyed that its lifting the screen protector which was once so flush you never knew it was there, i know have bubbles from lifting on the side corners all the time in which i have to smooth it out and like put case more on top of the screen (i guess b/c its so flush it rubs screen protector) - :(

hopefully this ****ing hurricane doesn't hit SOFLA this monday, because my Nightsky otterbox is supposed to be coming in that day via fedex ... GRRRRRRRR

I had that problem with the Technocel Hybrigel Case, though not quite as badly. The first 2 days were the worst as sliding the phone in and out of the holster caused some friction on the edges bordering the screen and would lift the screen cover. Good thing it broke in after a couple of days and was easier to slide in the holster and the prob wasn't as bad after. Great case, though, nice snug fit.
