i was honestly affraid due to tropical storm Isaac it might not have been delievered... needless to say i received mine today earlier then expected.

I found the reason these phones get hot and it's an app that will work great for both battery and heat. Just look up task killer in apps market, so much stuff is running in the background even if you don't start it.

I got a white/grey Otterbox Commuter on my white S3. Aside from the bulk of it, it looks pretty good. The 2 complaints I have of it:
1) the back is slick. Slicker than the phone (Thank God, it's an Otterbox)
2) the buttons don't work well at all. I padded the inside buttons with some cotton from a q-tip and it works much better.
 
I'm graduating from a Desire HD to an S3 (it just HAD to be blue, even though I put a bulky case on!).

What I wanted was protection from knocks, a kickstand, and a bit of colour.

This silicone hard case one from ebay is around
 
anyone get the silicone case (OEM VZW)? the blue one? i have it and its pretty nice, although again it does trap heat...my fear of cases is the heat being trapped and it not being good for the cpu

do NOT get a task killer. itll only make your phone buggy and slow. if you have battery drain issues, you probably have a rogue app running wild around your phone.

The curved glass fits perfectly underneath - no bubbles or anything after a few days of use.

I started out with the matte black Diztronic case, which was pretty good, the only thing I didn't like about it was that the material was a bit too slippery for my taste. So I started doing some research and found that the Body Glove Dropsuit was perfect, it looked like it had really good grip and I LOVE the look of it on my S3 :D I think the pictures speak for themselves (note: I also have an XO Skins screen protector on my phone if anyone is curious :))

The material isn't quite like any TPU case I've had in the past, it's a little more rigid, which I guess isn't a bad thing. It makes the case a little more difficult to take on and off. The button response isn't too bad, better on the volume rocker than the lock button, but still extremely responsive, I just miss that "click" feeling when hitting the lock button. Overall a great case :D

My purple Otterbox Defender arrived today. I like my Ballistic SG Maxx case better. The defender almost feels flimsy in comparison. I think i like how the corners are far more protected on the ballistic case. The touch buttons by the home button are easier to press in the defender and I do really like how I can holster it both face in and face out.

Not sure how else to word it. Just a bit disappointed in the Otterbox. At least I only shelled out $30 for it during the JR's preorder sale.
