GS3 Case discussion thread

i've ordered the bottom one for my sisters phone ssince that is what she wanted. will let you know once i get it, expecting it to be delivered today or tomm. of course I can't use it with the phone, but will tell you how the case itself seems
 
Thanks RamOG! I like the bumper because it covers the whole edge of the phone unlike the top pic...and looks like it will be easy to put on and take off for dock chargers.
 
dont know how i like it yet because i dont have my phone to put it on but it seems to be well put together, which you should already expect from an official case.

everytime i have gotten a package this week i get more impatient because its everything i ordered for the phone but still no phone!!
 
So, in merging some threads related to cases, it appears that the post order got a little confused at the beginning of the thread. Sorry about any confusion that may cause.

Where did you get that case from? Do you have a link to it?
 
So this is just one piece in which the phone "snaps" into the case? How secure is it? Does it seem like it would come off easily?

Edit: I just realized that you may not have the phone yet so I guess you can't really answer those questions for me.

Amazon has them cheaper than the casemate website. About $18.

I'd probably go white on white.
 
what about the case and screen protectors that verizon is offering?

I am on the verizon site, pre-ordering a 16gb White SG3 and it gives me the option to buy screen protectors (pack of 3- $12) and a case ($20). The name of the case is Silicone Glossy White. Should I get that one or just order the phone and hold off on the case?

I'd hold off and shop around, there seems to be tons of selection for this phone.

Yah. I will prob just grab the screen protectors and hold off on the case.

More and more this is just personal preference - I have a gel case on my DroidX, and am beginning to not like it at all. My better half has an otterbox defender (i.e. big, thick and bulky) on his iPhone that you couldn't pay me to put on one of mine. My Epic 4G Touch came with a very thin case and matching holster, which I really like. I'm realizing that the more minimalist it is (is that an oxymoron?), the more I like it.

Just bought a different case for the E4GT, one of the smaller snap on type cases - and while it's really nice and feels great in my hand, it obscurs the bottom soft buttons a hair too much so I will probably try to resell it instead of using it, and go back to the very thin one from Sprint.

It also depends on how you carry it, how often you drop it, how hard or easy you are on it - it really is an individual decision.
 
Today I ordered off ebay two cheap TPU cases for my pre-ordered pebble blue phone. I got the S-curves style, one in blue and another the in black.

Previously, I had a shell on my HTC Incredible and it was not so great because it would still allow the top and bottom edges of the phone to be nicked. I currently have a glossy TPU case on my LG Spectrum and it's been working great.

We'll see how the cheap ones look and hold up. If they work well, great. If not, the two cost less than $4 so I won't be out much and can get something better.
 
Not sure about the TPU cases, mostly because we put an order for the wife and the ship date says it will be here July 30th. The email from the vendor says it shipped BUT will take 15 business days to get here.
