GS3 In-Store Sightings

I think this falls under the scope of this forum, and hope it doesn't re-hash a previous thread.

I'm trying to bring into one place accurate information on when each carrier (AT&T, Spring, T-Mobile, Verizon) will be getting working versions of the GS3 in-store for playing around with.

Will this only happen upon the official releases?

If so, it would be great to get some first hand information about where people have had the most success finding a display model of the phone to test out.

I'm stuck on Verizon so it looks like my store will probably be last, but I'd love to swing by some of the other stores in my metro area to at least get my hands on this phone and see it.

We can also include 3rd party stores like BB and Radioshack if they have been spotted there.

Thanks

I do appreciate the desire to want to make a sightings thread, but I would like to keep carrier related discussions in their individual carrier threads.

To see a listing of carriers we're listing so far, please read the sticky: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/559624-read-me-first.html#post4484320

Thank you for your understanding. I'm going to lock this thread, as noted that I want to keep carrier-specific discussions in their individual threads. If anyone feels that I've wrongly locked this thread, please feel free to PM me and we can discuss why it's important to have a separate thread from the individual carrier ones.

Edit: After talking to the OP about this thread, I've decided to unlock it. Please stay on topic when replying to this thread. Proper responses would be if you spot a display/demo unit in a store, not if the store has Galaxy S3s for sale. Thanks!

Thanks for unlocking this thread, I was getting tired of reading through all the individual carrier threads. Having all the sightings in one place is very helpful.

Me to! Especially as a VZW subscriber. Reading all those posts about phones on the truck, was making me want to cry.

I thinly I'll swing by and see if I can play with one today.

I've called local T-Mobile stores and have confirmed that the downtown boston store has units in store. No dedicated demo units but the phone is in store.

On a related note another boston area location told me that they dont expect the unit for a few days.

Long story short, some t-mobile stores have them so I would call around to your local shops to see if any near you have the phone.

Hope this helps someone

It looks like the only T-Mobile location on Long Island with any inventory is in Flushing. Not worth the trip for me...

I stopped in an ATT store in San Diego on Thursday, the 21st. I was told that the phone would be in on Sunday, the 24th.

Anything new yet? Has it hit the streets or is it still in hiding?

Tried AT&T, Tmobile and Sprint in downtown Burbank and nobody had it out.

T-Mobile appears to be your best bet. Not all the T-mobile locations by me had the device in store. I would suggest calling the few closest T-mobile retail locations to you until you find one that has it. Best of luck.

T-Mobile in the Nashville market (not a city on the list) had a dummy SIII phone. I didn't even ask to see it. I've gotten my gel case so I know how big it is. I saw three accessories, a Zagg SP and a Samsung SP and case. Guess everyone will be raiding Sprint stores on Sunday to touchy feely.

TMOB @ Triangle Town in Raleigh has them in stock. ATT had none and had no idea when they'd be in. BB Mobile had none for sale but did get a shipment of phones while I was there but wouldn't comment on what they were.

I stopped in a Best Buy in the San Diego area. They had a number of the Sprint phones and were taking preorders for the ATT due in soon. In the photos, I was impressed by how nice the white phone looked in the cases. However, I thought that the pebble blue color was very nice looking in person. It's almost a dark denim.

I stopped by a T-mobile store in south Florida this afternoon and played around with a blue 16G model. They also had a white dummy model displayed. They're both beautiful. I was pleased that the home button doesn't require as hard a press as the button on my Droid X2 (I won't miss those). I like the TW interface, though there will be a learning curve for it.

Ahhhhhhhh.... Sprint at Opry Mills in Nashville said they were on sale today. No demos on display but I did get to play with the pebble blue for a couple of minutes. Looked almost black, but I'm sure that's lighting. VERY smooth interface. I'm so glad this is my next phone. July 10th can't get here soon enough...Verizon!

I happen to check it out yesterday at the Ontario mills mall, california. Beautiful!. Fast, smooth with a very nice screen. Can't wait for mine in July. The blue was more of a gun metal blue to me. I like that more than the white. I hope extended batteries are in the works. I like going all day without worrying about charging. Very very nice phone. LOL atleast Tmobile has a nice phone if Verizon tries to slam that shared data crap on me in the future.
