Root GSEII sucking battery dry.

heliosxx

Newbie
Hey guys, I recently upgraded to ZVD and GSEII from ZVB with a few tweaks. the new ROM causes my battery to drain twice as fast as usual.

The worst is during idle. Before the ROM I could go to bed with the phone at 95% and wake up with it at 90% or so. Went to bed last night at 95% and woke up at 58%.

I tried applying the optimizer's sensor check tweak down to 1 second and no overclocking (tried reducing the lower bound a notch) and still no luck.

Any idea? Is it doing this for others? Any fixes?

Thanks!

There are no official roms for zvd. With that being said you are using a ROM that is not supposed to be on zvd.

Hopefully you made a stock backup before you flashed the rom because you either need to go back to stock zvd and wait for an official release, down grade to zvb and then ROM, or wait till your phone dies from having the wrong ROM on zvd and take it metro.

I down graded because zvd offered nothing better than what i had.

I run gse2 under clocked to 700 and i get 20 plus hours on a stock battery. Zvb.

Just because people are running zvc roms on zvd doesn't mean it's not slowly eating up their cpu. It's only gonna take a few more weeks to get a ROM for zvd so i would advise to be patient. Plus zvd isn't that much better than b sooooo to me it's pointless to take that chance.

Thanks for the info. I thought that GSEII was written on ZVC? I wanted the newer one because I have the wifi-network switching issue. Plus a lot of reports on how the new versions are faster. perhaps I'll downgrade. Thanks !

wat kind of official release r u waiting for just out of curiosity.

Honestly I'm not waiting for a rom for zvd. My phone as it sits right now on B is nasty. I have 0 problems so it would have to be special for me to go back to zvd because zvd didn't seem any better or worse imo. If it ain't broke don't fix it. :D

Plus i don't mean official as in LG official. If that is what you were insinuating. :D

lol k I'm on zvd and my other one is zvb there both r running great we should have a gingersteem d rom pretty soon thats gonna b nice ;)

Zvd seems alot smoother. Had zvc downgraded, ran most of the zvb roms and kernels. Would get bad after a few months and have to wipe and flash. Just reflashed stock zvb upgraded and rooted to zvd. Wifi teth er works. Bloat has been frozen. Will report any issues.

GSE on ZVD would be nice. I might switch over for that. That's what Im running now and its great. :D

WELL I AM CONFUSED I THINK IF THE ROM IS AT FAULT, I THINK HE MAY NEED TO SET THAT CPU A LITTLE LOWER. CAUSE I DID AND THE ROM RUNS SMOOTH NO LAG AND SPEND ALOT OF TIME ON THE NET STILL RAN BETTER FELT LIKE THEY CAN CALL ME POLO I HAD SO MANY HORSES :D:eek:

I didn't understand anything you said except for the CPU part and he stated in his first post that he tried setting it to normal and that didn't work. If it doesn't work at normal it's not gonna work below normal.

for me ZVD is a huge difference. i am usually a battery hog and i can easily maintain over 15% battery at end of day, where typically on ZVB i was having the phone die on me at about 9pm every night.

that is quite a difference when your talking 10% battery last over 1 hr.

just put the stock zvd on it and rock it and u will see what a huge difference it is.

Did you calibrate the battery

Nope, didn't see any mention of that, but it didn't seem to be a calibration issue, but who knows.

I did revert back to stock ZVD (the hard way, not the one poster earlier) and I'm using the de-cluttered stock ROM, and the battery life seems back to normal. ZVD does seem better than B, but that might be subjective, though the horrible lag when coming out of sleep does seem much better. I'll see after a day of uptime if the network/wifi switchover is fixed.
