This is very amusing. I'm quite enjoying it.

well I broke down and put in my pre-order. placed through expansys. being my first import buying experience, I have a bit of anxiety how things will play out. I am cautiously optimistic

Are you ordering the 32GB version from expansys?

negri posted on their blog that they won't be recieving their shipment this week anymore and that they will recieve it "early next week" .... whatever that means!

So on the evotronix.com site the $689.95 deal should be good on the 25th. They will open up regular orders on that date. So make sure you order it on the 25th because they will change the price up to the 750 soon after.

It's good because the Galaxy s2 for t-mobile just the phone itself is $650 new. So this 689.95 price for a pure Google phone is a great deal.

Edit - I contacted them and talked to a woman that works with evotronix so they gave me all the info above.

Did they say why they don't let you preorder it?

expansys commented they are expecting their shipment on the 23rd. I should be in on that shipment. so maybe I will have mine friday.... still better than all those waiting for verizon to get their sh!t together ;)

No way in HELL I'm paying that for a phone.

But you'll sign a contract agreeing to pay some enormous amount of money over the course of two years to a carrier and not have the option to leave without paying a fee that amounts to more than what you paid for the phone?

Put it on T-mobile with the Monthly4G plan at 100 minutes + unlimited data and text for $30/mo and you'll make your $$$ back even more quickly. That's my plan :)

Yep this is my plan, sure I get to pay $700 for a phone, but I save well over that in monthly costs over a period of 2 years.

too bad t-mobile's coverage is spottier than a dalmatian. I had a nice no contract plan with them... unlimited everything for like 69/month. a great deal until you realize you rarely can make calls, the web is beyond slow and cuts in and out. sorry, I'll pay an extra 30/month with ATT and actually have a phone that works
-
your coverage may vary :D

I was checking Bell Canada and VirginMobile Canada's web sites and it looks like you can pre-order GSM GNex off contract for around $650.00 (627.99 US, quick currency conversion on Yahoo). Bell says "launch date" is Dec 8, VM says "ship date" is Dec 7.

Galaxy Nexus from Bell Mobility

Phones - Virgin Mobile Canada

I was hesitant about ordering from Europe. Depending on what happens here in the near future, I might consider getting mine from Canada. Better price also.

This is what expansys-usa is saying about their stock as of this morning->

we will do another update this afternoon. We expect stock to ship from the supplier this afternoon or tomorrow. Once we have tracking we will be able to give the best info.

No they already took pre-orders some time ago and closed it down. You can buy it on Black friday for the discounted price. Gotta make sure that you order it quickly cause their only taking a select number at the discounted price on black friday.

Can we have this thread pinned/stickied? A few of us are waiting for prices to drop a little thus any pricing updates for unlocked GNex would be very useful.
