Root [[GUIDE]] Apps To SD

I decided to start a new thread because I've been sifting through the threads here and it seems folks are still having trouble moving apps to sd. You can do this by simply adding two lines to the build prop. You'll have to go to settings/apps and move them from there. Some apps do not allow this, but just check each app installed and see which ones give you this option.

The two lines are..
ro.lge.capp_osp=true
ro.lge.capp_move_sdcard=true

Here's a screen shot of where to place them

UPDATE:
If you want to move more apps this is the only app I've found without partioning the sd to move.. It is a paid app but well worth it. The free version only allows five apps to be moved.

F2SD

I think the issue here is this may be a bit too advanced for some users who simply just need the app solutions that used to work well. I don't think I even want to delve into editing system files to get app2sd working.

Wouldn't Link2SD work well without this edit?

I tried it and it didn't work got a warning message. I think adding the lines are the only way... At least the only way I've found.

I'd rather have something I can build into the system.. Things work better when they run systematically from boot up.

I used rom toolbox. It has a build prop editor. Very easy all you have to do is add the information. I was a bit leery at first but it was easy as hell.

This method works but it doesn't work all the way. The extra data that is downloaded from gameloft games for example is still stored in the Internal Storage. The app can be moved but the data has to remain in the Internal Storage.

Are you sure you are rooted? Or are using a root specific file manager? The only time I've had any issue with not being able to edit build prop was when I thought I had properly rooted but was not.

Yes, Link2SD works fine, and has advantages over App2SD, like being able to move almost any app, even apps with widgets, and the widgets will still work fine. And if you've updated any stock apps, for example, Google Maps, GMail, etc., the updated version can be moved to SD.

After this i get an error saying couldnt move app not enough storage space but i have like 14 gb free on my sd card. I added the 2 lines using rom toolbox. Any ideas?

If you're also trying to use rom tb to move it won't work. They have to be moved from the phone settings menu. Or one of the apps mentioned on the op or comments of this thread..

Idk I never use rtb to do anything really. I use root explorer file manager. I have issues with rtb's root browser not working.

Ok well i tried root explorer file manager also and get the same result. Also F2SD didnt work either. Idk thanks anyways

Try the zip that i uploaded..trust me it works. And if you want to remove it just let me know and ill tell you how
