If the problem is pushing the file into the phone you can also use a file manager to copy and paste the file inside /data

You just have to edit the current one on your phone (I use root explorer and i open it in text) make your changes and save and exit

How do I know which file to edit and which part of the file? After we reboot right?

You edit exactly what the guide tells you but instead of doing it on ur pc your doing it on your phone or if If it's less confusing for you you can just repeat the process from scratch

Can you give me some help? I don't understand what to do here i typed what I wanted and saved so far, but don't understand the push to the eri.xml inside /data/
-Save and Exit
-Push the eri.xml inside /data/
-Reboot and done

OK,
Save the eri.xml to your SD card.
now open your file manager of choice (root explorer here) and copy the eri.XML you just put in your SD card and paste it inside the folder name data (/data)
you should be able to see that folder as soon as you open the file manager in most cases

That's an actually image not text, there's is recent thread about changing that, won't recommend it to you since you're sort of new to this things

I sort of learned by trying things myself, reading up alot of the guides found here http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/460450-lg-esteem-all-things-root-guide.html and always ALWAYS make a backup of your current rom before you try ANYTHING :thumbup:

Wow i am finally able to do it. You wont believe it though. I only did the guide for this one and it changed both the carrier text on the drop down noticications and it changed the one from the lockscreen too!!! I didnt have to do the guide for the other one either. I feel accomplished!!
will post screenshot as well. Plan on editting it though since i just put verizon just to see if it worked. lol

Not at all man if you see the post above it was just to test it out. I ended up getting both lockscreen and drop down notification with this guide. I didn't keep it long anyways since I put #2 on my phone.

I'm better off paying 60 a month with metro than 100+ with other carriers. Plus I pay my own bill I'm not willing to pay 100+ anyway, plus coverage around my area is great.
