now go back to root explore and go to /system/app/ googlequicksearchbox.apk and rename it to googlequicksearchbox.apk.bak just for back up if you don't like google now

make backup of your original files if you don't like googe now to go back to

this did not work for me. After the second reboot i did not get any message saying that 2 apps are updating. Also my google search bar at the top of every screen is gone. All i see now is the + button to add items to the pages.

Did you copy system and just merge it with system in root explore? And rename googlesearch?

Yes, i copied all files from the download and merged them with the system folder. I fixed it though by setting permissions on all files to rw-r--r-- (644) and this worked. But my voice search does not work very well. Even simple commands like "Hows the weather" do not result in anything.

You werent suppouse to change permisions at all .... thats why it didnt work i just unzip copy and merge folders anf reboot then go back and rename that apk

At first i did not, i followed your instructions. After the second reboot i did not get any message saying 2 apps were being upgraded.

So i went back and changed permissions on all files i copied to the /system/ folder and rebooted. Then i saw the message that 2 apps were being upgraded, and thats when the google now app started working.

Although not very well, like i mentioned earlier, it would not even recognize any search terms like "whats the weather like", it would show me the text on the screen, but not much after.

The cards worked after i turned on my A-GPS settings, i could see the weather and other location info but the whole application felt like it was running slow and just "buggy".

Like i said before you probably didnt did something right i do a video tutorial later on so i can show you step by step

Not much, but here's a contribution from me for GNow.

Since location pretty much needs to be online full time, and since the location indicator is hideous, I made this icon with my Android and replaced it with Ninjamorph.

Well, I tried this before and it didn't work.

I followed your instructions exactly this time and I got a message starting it was upgrading 1 app.

It works just like the JB ROM I put on the HTC Desire. I looked up a bunch of commands and tried then all. I got the Info card and the voice responded stating whatever was on the card.

Worked perfectly.

Thanks for your guide, I didn't reboot before or change the name of the Google Search pack last time. This time it was great.

Ha thanks i was gonna record the screen with Screencast but idk something is wrong with it

Okay its easy to modify files

Get root explorer

Navigate to system/app and look for systemUI.apk extract it go to rez drawable mdpi and change the mpcs 4g to the vz4g ita located in the bottom

Ok, i got as far as finding the files. Am I copying a specific file to a specific location?

Ive tried renaming the VZ one inside the extracted folder and moving that to the build under systemUI...it asks me to overwrite it but actually copies it to the app folder

Copy your systemUI.apk

Here you go just drop in system/app

Copy over the systemui.apk and reboot and sign should be change

"SystemUI.apk" - SystemUI.apk - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
