Thanks! We're still downloading the same ZIP file in this thread I'm assuming?
same zip just follow the directions in the OP.Welp, downloaded the new zip and got started. Got allllll the way to the last 3 commands, and got an error... <sigh>
$ /system/xbin/busybox --install -s /system/xbin
/system/xbin/busybox --install -s /system/xbin
link_image[1934]: 5571 missing essential tablesCANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE
$
Is this something happening as a result of all the crap I've already tried throughout all of this?

same zip just follow the directions in the OP.
on the link_image error, just install superuser from the Play Store.![]()
OH! Gotcha! I didn't realize what was going on there for a sec. So that line just installs whatever is in the system/xbin folder?
Okay, so I've installed Superuser from the Play store and had no issues there.
I opened terminal on the Score and typed "su" and got a prompt for root/superuser access and an option to grant/deny it. Before I got an access denied error, I think.
It's rooted, hey?

16. type:Code:/system/xbin/busybox --install -s /system/xbin
i'm stuck @ this one cmd says;
link_image[19341]: 1735 missing essential tablesCANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE
is there something i miss?
I posted a thread on how to do that along with all the files needed tooYup! That did it. It asked me to grant root rights and then checked for elevated root priv, and went on to the setup. That's just friggin' awesome! The Score-M is rooted!
Someone said something about rooting being a disaster waiting to happen w/o a recovery, so I'm messing with CWM for the Cricket Score, and the page I'm looking at says only to copy the recovery.img to the root of the sd-card and run "flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img"
When I do this, i just get "flash_image: not found" which I don't get. I did use "su" in the terminal before doing the flash_image command.
How to Flash the ClockworkMod Recovery for the Cricket ZTE Score (X500) - TheUnlockrTheUnlockr

From a few posts up think you just have to install superuser from the play store.
All right, i got the ZTE Score M about two months ago, and since then i have been trying to root it.
Super one click didnt work, then i came upon this.
Everything is fine until i get to typing the commands in the command prompt in step 5.
When i type adb shell, it says adb: permission denied.
This may be a problem with my personal computer, but if it is i havent been able to find it.
Please help?

It shows your phone in device manager as an ADB deviceIt recognized my device after doing what you said, and it is in usb debugging mode
still no results tho.

i get a $ after ADB SHELL too... never saw #prompt..
i have FULL ADBridge control of the phone, just NO ROOT privledges at all
i can reboot the phone into fastboot/recovery, but it just sits at the android logo
waiting for me to type in something spectacular, i guess.. the only way to get out
of this state is to unplug the battery...
this phone is VERY NICELY LOCKED by the carrier and/or manufacturer (ZTE).
thanks, ZTE for the UNrootable Score M
