Root [GUIDE] how to root US LG G Stylo on 5.1.1 and unbrick :) updated on 9/2/2015

I have a question on the boost mobile version since you can update to MM (6.0) Can you still root your phone with king root

I'm stuck at ls tmp. nothing happened. Tried on win 7 and win 10
ss.jpg

This worked for me, thank you so much!
My phone (LG H443 got soft bricked from trying the (www.smartphoneclinics.com/one-click-script-to-root-lg-escape2-h443/) one click root thing.

I was freaking about and frantically searching for solutions as soft reset didn't work nor factory reset. Luckily I stumbled across this and it actually worked!

I actually just made an account to say this, and it might seem insignificant, but thank you for the effort you put into making this guide and fixing my solution. I hope you live a prosperous and wonderful life

My phone is lg g h634 cricket 5.1 rooted with King root started having app crashing and tried to unroot with King root phone kept acting up so I factory restored and now can't get past setup it says EULA stopped working. Have done the trying to resat three times. What cn I do?

Attention if you try this and end up with a brick or your device transforms and tries to destroy you; it's not my fault you did this not me. So just read all of this thread not just the O.P to get out of a bind if you reply with "the thread is too long i wont read it please help" don't expect anything short of "there's a search bar use it"

Attention
if you bricked via trying to root with the 5.0.2 method on 5.1.1 then just run what is below and you will have a fully working and rooted Stylo ;)

Hello there I and Unjustified Dev have figured out how to root this puppy with the help of a video on YouTube so please read carefully and copy carefully please

Step 1 make sure you have a Windows PC
Step 2 download the LG Drivers from here: http://www.mylgphones.com/lg-android-usb-device-drivers
Step 3 reboot your device into download mode
Step 4 download this folder and unzip it to your desktop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347799389
Step 5 now run ports.bat from withing the extracted folder, to find your correct port (use the one with: LGVZANDNETDIAG1)
Step 6 in the LG_Root folder hold shift and right click and choose open command windows here
Step 7 run Push_File.exe \\.\COM11 busybox /tmp/busybox
^^^^^(place correct number after "COM" with no space)^^^^^^
it will then give you a message for example:

C:\Users\juan\Desktop\LG_Root>Push_File.exe \\.\COM11 busybox /tmp/busybox
Author : blog.lvu.kr
File : busybox
Path : /tmp/busybox

UNLK : FAIL
OPEN : OPEN
TOT FileSize : 1048328

SendStart
WRTE : WRTE1048328byte sent

CLSE: CLSE

Step 8 run Push_File.exe \\.\COM11 lg_root.sh /tmp/lg_root.sh (same deal as before)
Step 9 run Push_File.exe \\.\COM11 UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Step 10 run Send_Command.exe \\.\COM11
Step 11 type the following ls tmp which will result in:
#ls tmp
FAIL
#ls tmp
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
busybox
lg_root.sh
now Step 11 run sh /tmp/lg_root.sh dummy 1 /tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /tmp/busybox

which should give you:

edit: works on all known US Variants don't know about the Canada or English ones....
How do I find the COM #? Where do I find it?

I have same phone and tried to root it using same one click root too. I'm so glad it works with this phone. But how do I find the correct COM number for step 7? COM11 didnt work for me then i looked and it said to put in right one. Im guessing it's different for everyone, can you tell me where to find it please? Reply when you can plz and thx!

....the ports bat

....the ports bat
I had to download it again cuz i reset my computer a few days ago. When i open the extracted folder it says Ports not ports.bat. I open it and it says Error: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value. I opened properties and it said ports.bat in name so i dont think thats why it says that. And I dont see LGVZANDNETDIAG1 ports that you said to use when finding my correct port. Now I can't put my phone in download mode, it just says Firmware Update 0% and doesnt even go up to 1%. If you have any idea why plz say. But If you can't then ill wait till hanakoisaqt. Since he has the same phone as me and it worked for him.

I made this account specifically to thank you. I used an old root method on an LG Escape 2 and soft bricked the thing, and I was going nuts thinking I would have to replace it. This fixed it, no sweat. For anyone in my position (stuck on LG logo screen) having trouble, here are some tips:

- Restart your PC after installing the LG drivers.
- Connect your phone to your PC and make sure the phone is in download mode. None of this will work otherwise.
- Follow the guide, step for step. You can highlight the commands in this guide, copy them, right click in the command window you're working in, and paste them there rather than retyping them all. Just make sure you change the COM# to your COM# (yours probably won't be COM11. Mine was COM4).

To the OP of this thread: you're a god. Thank you.

Method is still working ? I would like to try, but links are down :/
yeah sorry, but most root methods provided by the devs can only be used for so long. mainly because the file sharing sites used do cost money to keep files up for certain lengths of time. after a while when supports stops so does the links. hopefully somebody here might have the files still, but that is a very small chance.

plus you are better off getting a phone with better specs. this phone has either 1or 2gb of ram, which these days is not very much. your phone will lag and most apps will not work.

you can find even a cheap phone with better specs.......just saying.

I see. Anyway, i managed to find some tools in XDA forums )
.
You are right about my phone. But i am using it for educative purposes, and for that, it is still not soo bad.
.
Actually, any of the tools i found worked xD (mostly based on mounting a system in other partition, pushing SU, busybox and a SH Root script, for android 5.1.1 and 5.0.2).
My device seems to be blocking the reception of the files i need (maybe this exploit for rooting was patched?)
Now i will go for the method described here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
.
My phone is a LG G4 Stylus H635A, Android 5.0.2, no fastboot mode (just reboots).
Bootloader blocked.
Not button for "OEM unblock" in developer options (but found "OEM MODE button in secret menu "RLZ Debug UI" and turned it On)
.
Any recommendation?
