Root [GUIDE]How to update HTC Wildfire S/Marvel/A510e/GSM to Software Version 2.3.5

If you are using the guide below, please read the instructions carefully, friend. Step 6 requires you to re-lock the bootloader.

http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s...ock-rom-ruu-after-bricking-rooted-device.html

If we are discussing that method, it would be best to carry on the discussion in that thread ;)
I have followed the instructions carefully, but what I am saying is I have never unlocked the bootloader in the first place, therefore your instructions doesn't work for me.

Above this post is my screenshot of Step 5. As you can see it failed. Step 6 is irrelevant because my bootloader is unlocked.

I just searched and found a method to downgrade the Wildfire S and do not recommend that you do it as it could hard brick the device. I think you are stuck with what you have :(

I found one or two methods of downgrading, but I believe it requires me to unlock the bootloader first. Thanks for your help anyway Cafe.

Hello everyone. I am like many here, a noob in this. And a noob that didn't read all the posts to see how often and easily one can hard-brick their phone trying to go from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5.
I think I originally had 1.33 software, and wanted to go to 2.xx in order to unlock and root.
I followed the first step which seemed to go fine until i got the backlight flashing thing and no access to the bootloader or anything else..
I ran the :
RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed.exe
HTC said that it doesn't recognize installed software from the internet but only FOTA updates and that the only thing that they can offer is to replace the motherboard that costs about 50 euro more than the whole phone. I have now given the phone to the only company here that has some boxes (like jtag riff box I hope) and they have been trying to resurrect it. The chances don't look good.
From what I read I haven' done something wrong..
If they do manage to resurrect it (with the stock rom), should I try to do the update with a different RUU or with a diferent way like procedure 2?

If you read this thread from the beginning you'll see that even if you do things right there is a small chance running the RUU will brick your phone. I have no explanation; I just know that it sometimes happens. As far as which RUU to run, try doing a fota update first. If nothing, try procedure 2 as you suggest. I'd go with 2.13xxxxxx.

thanks a lot. I was desperately trying to solve that "un-known error 155" when running the RUU, I successfully updated the ROM using the method suggested in procedure#3. It was suppose to be arabic supported ROM coz I am having problem reading/writing arabic/farsi/urdu languages but unfortunately it wasn't it was just same "roman only supported" ROM.
Can you plz guide me from where can I get any update so the disconnected letters arabic/urdu can be merged and I can read them in texts or in other applications.
