Root Guide to start off ? [DEV]

I really want to be able to give back and add to the great team of rom making, tweak building, theme creating beasts out here, especially on this fourm and keep it very much alive for another while ;)
So what im asking is can someone give me a place to start off, or a personal coach even! thanks guys.
 
I've been working to learn this too. I would suggest looking here http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/460450-lg-esteem-all-things-root-guide.html Look at the guides and try some things out. My favorite is the animated status bar. It took me awhile to get it to work, but it was good for learning. Building Roms is hard work, I know because I have been trying to learn for about six months; limited time because of work an family time. The Devs that work on our phones are amazing. Start small work on themes and small mods to get a feel for it. I haven't produced anything worth sharing yet but hopefully someday. Good luck.

That's correct. I started with the Indulge and moved to the Esteem. I haven't really had much time for posting, just learning from other members. The Esteem community is one of the best for learning from. I have learned a lot from here.
