[GUIDE] Unbrick LG Lucid

Hi, I'm very green at this & probably shouldn't have been playing around with this stuff but ya don't know unless you try right.

So I rooted my LG Lucid successfully, downloaded the ROM Toolbox Lite, & was uninstalling factory apps like golf, zombies & more. Tried deleting Google+ & wouldn't complete uninstall so I restarted the phone only to arive on the LG sercurity error & no further. No big deal right? just unbrick the phone? Only the up+down volume+pwr button thing doesn't do anything. I tried that action on the sercurity error page, pulled the battery & tried it on startup, tried it just after startup, tried holding the 3 buttons down indefinitely, it's just not working.

Should I just except defeat & take it in to a tech or is there another way?

Someone please help, I've been at this all day.

If's Sammy's suggestion doesn't work, try pulling the battery, then replacing it and holding down both vol + and - , then plugging in the USB cable while still holding them (cable must be plug into a power source). It's how we get into Download mode on the Spectrum.
 
hey guys I think my phone bricked the screen went black and when I put it on the charger the navigation lights blink but the screen remains black. Help I never rooted my phone and the hard reset doesn't work for me help please!!:(

Your battery died to the point of no longer having enough juice to power on. We had the same issue with the spectrum. Find a good 1-2a power adapter (a computer only puts out .5) along with a cable that has a good snug fit in your phone. Now it's possible that your phone will power on to the battery charging screen at this point. If not, you will need to pull the battery and try turning on the phone while it's plugged in. If it boots, put the battery back in and wait for it to charge full. If not, then you are most likely looking at needing a new battery.
 
went back to gb 2.3.6 but was to buggy, no connection to wifi 4g and phone network, so i had to go back to ics firmware. everything was also force closing and a popup kept on showing
 
I figured it out, I used the factory reset in the menu on ICS instead of the hard factory reset. everything worked fine after I used the hard reset.
 
I have installed the drivers, and got all the way to the start upgrade, but it just keeps saying phone not found...i have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and still nothing...
 
Yes, sammyz helped me with the phone not found issue, but now when I launch update it says: Unpacking KDZ

is zv8 the correct firmware I need to download?

Any cab will do fine, the problem is that the download is bad.

Good luck since WINE doesn't support hardware/drivers.

wipe my phone?

Just did it and it booted back up as before... trying to see if its still rooted.

Have to mail it tonight.

No....it only wipes /system. NOT /data ;)

Root is located in /system, while most apps are located in /data.

If you want to wipe /data then factory reset.
