Root [GUIDE] Unbrick/Unroot Lucid 2 VS870[KDZ]

And you could have ignored that error and it would have continued, it once happened to me before lol.
 
the cab file wont convert...or the converter isnt working properly..its not converting the file..i click it and its like i never clicked it it never says done or anything can someone send me the kdz file asap stackman@gmail.com


now it converted but when i try to upgraded it says "extract file error"
 
The KDZ file is about 1gb and won't send through email. I might be able to upload it to box.com but it is best if you convert it yourself. Just start the conversion and let it sit. It took me about 10 or 20 minutes for the conversion to complete.

I got it kdz'd but when i click start update it eventually says extract file error then finished...what do i do
 
One more problem. Could be just me, but the Firmware link only downloads about 22 MB'S then fails. Am I the only one with this issue? It happens on both computers and all smartphones in the house.
Any thoughts?

Still seems stuck to me.. won't go past 22 still.
I'm going to give LG Support and see if they can help. If I can get it working, I'll save a personal unmodified copy for if anyone else is still having issues.
EDIT: LG Support says LG has nothing to do with that website or the server, or the files.

I think it is still a drivers isssue because windows is making the disconnect and recconect sounds every so often. I will try restarting my computer and trying again but I'm not sure if that will help. Any ideas?

I'll update this post when I try restarting my computer.

EDIT: Restarted computer, same error, same disconnect/reconnect sounds.

Another EDIT: Since it is a hardware issue do you think they'll bitch that the phone is rooted when I take it in? (With my luck they'll blame the root for breaking the microSD card slot like Best Buy blames Linux for causing hardware issue in computers).

One Last Edit: Tried to to the unroot/unbrick on my laptop (the computer I did the original root on) and I get the same Disconnect/Reconnect sounds on it. I think there is an issue with windows detecting the phone when it is in download mode? If you have any advice or there is any other way to unroot (or if you think they wouldn't care as mentioned in my previous edit) please let me know :D

Sure this is time passed, but if it is a Verizon Wireless LG Lucid 2, they won't bitch, but you will when you go to pay your bill and see the full retail price of the phone added on there.
They tried to get me on that when I had the issue you can see on this post.
Funny for me, when I bricked it, it cleared the memory and uprooted it. So it got fixed under warranty.
Just a piece of friendly advice for ya man.

I seem to be having the same problem. I used IE and Chrome and only get to about 22mb before it tells me its "done." I'm not bricked, just want to update and keep getting a "err: 0x13e" which is caused by the updater detecting an aftermarket recovery. Does anyone have a good link to the .cab?

I got an unmodified .cab file from a guy who is working some development for the Lucid 2 so I will post the .kdz and the .cab most likely tomorrow after work.
On a different note, I have a question.
When I try and flash it using the steps defined in the OP tutorial, my phone restarts by itself and doesn't finish.
Any thoughts?

If it boots, it did finish.
I can't help for awhile, this is a bad time for me right now :o
If anyone here downloaded a cab before it got messed up, please upload it/or the kdz file. I have it ddownloaded on my laptop, but I don't have access to it. Neither do I have access to my bookmarks to get you guys the cab for the update. Sorry that I can't help :(

It's all good.
Sorry for the false alarm.
It did work.
Everyone else, I will be uploading both the cab and the predone kdz file for your use.
I can personally confirm they are working and unmodified.
So if you need them, they will be up tomorrow with links. :D
