Root [GUIDE] Unbrick/Unroot Lucid 2 VS870[KDZ]

I know I'm on here alot, but I am trying to learn things.
You see, I reflashed my phone using the B firmware you provided. Is there a reason why it removed root and everything associated with root, yet my programs are all still here?

I flashed to remove root, but it kept my stuff, such as WIFI password, XDA app, this forums app. :P
All other times it removed everything and I started from scratch. I've tried this a few times before and thats all it does.
Firmware does the same thing, it seems to upgrade, optimize apps, and I still have them all.

Firmware flashes everything except /data. All your apps will still be there, but anything you added/removed in /system will go back to how it was.

This guide does say unroot.......makes sense that it removes root. :)

What are all other times?? Factory reset is not the same as flashing firmware.

Well, as you can read above, I have done this before. I sometimes refresh from boredom.
But, I'm going into Verizon today to tell them how the last time my phone bricked it wasn't my fault. Yes I used the wrong firmware, but after getting it back from LG, they explained to me that I had a hardware malfunction. There had been something wrong with it since I got it..
Anyways, just to double check, this clears all RCT logs right? No trace of root anywhere .

I had the exact same problem as collwellkr post #17.
Only way to stop the connect/disconnect sequence was to plug the phone into the USB 3.0 jack on my PC. For some reason, the USB 2.0 ports just didn't want to work. After that, for some reason, I was able to unplug and replug into a USB 2.0 port and it worked fine.

Anyway, neither the drivers in the OP link nor the ones inside KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip worked on my Lucid 2 with VS87011A firmware. I tried Windows 7 x64, Windows 8 Pro x64, and Windows XP 32-bit. Didn't work on any of them in Download Mode. On all 3, there were 2 unknown devices, "LG Android USB Device". VID_1004, PID_6238. I went through the LG Unified Driver folder in Program Files (x86) and loaded up every .inf file, not a single one had a device with PID_6238 in it. I finally managed to get it to work by downloading and installing the drivers from the LG website, "LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.1.exe". I'm not sure how the other drivers worked for other people, maybe the VS87011A firmware changes the PID?

Anyway, got my phone successfully downgraded and rooted.

Is this the page link for that download? It appears to be:)

If im on firmware b, can i encrypt firmware A and use this to update as well? Or do i need to run this for firmware b, factory reset firmware B, OTA update, Then re-root?

So I managed to soft brick my phone today. (Deleting stock apps I shouldn't have.)

After going through the unbrick guide, I put the original firmware back on the phone. Now I can't get wifi to connect and the Play store FCs every single time I open it up. I've tried doing the software update, that didn't make a difference, and even a factory reset.

Any ideas? This is crazy.

EDIT: Getting another one shipped to me, should arrive Saturday.

So, I have no MAC address. I sideloaded Device ID and found out I no longer have an ID. So there's no way to connect to any services other than GMail and Chrome. No wifi, but data at least works. Lesson learned.

I just got allowed into the Any.Do Cal beta and I can't download it until the new one comes in now. When I soft bricked, I panicked and did a hardware reset. I wonder if that did it, or if I was screwed from the moment I uninstalled whatever it was I got rid of. (Music? Books? I don't remember, but certainly wasn't both.)

i have installed the phone drivers and msxml but the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin nor the KDZ_FW_UPD will open the windows notification pops up i click yes then nothing idk whats wrong with it :(
