Root {GUIDE x2} Update to ZVD/Root ZVD

If I don't have a back up of stock zvd. If someone sends it to me will it work and is it does could someone send it please??!?!?

Sent from my LG-MS910 using Tapatalk

i have a small piece of advice for anyone who forgets to install recovery, and then tries to boot into recovery with an app it will give you a stock recovery loop and keep loopin but DO NOT pull battery, it will stop looping and eventually stay on that screen that was blinking.. once it stops looping than you pull the battery and errything should be fine!! :D

if you pull battery before it stops the loop, it will just loop again once you put it back in

Decided to upgrade to ZVD. The whole process of Upgrading/Rooting and CWM install took me about 30 mins. Now is time to test. :D:D:D

Was a Piece of Cake thanks to all the people who made this Guide. Now lets debloat and deodex this thing.Thanx

Updated from stock rooted ZVB to ZVD and rooted w/o issue. So far so good...

How:

1. Performed complete sys & user data bu with TB
2. updated to ZVD using lg tool
3. rooted ZVD using the ZVC AIO rooter (LG_Esteem_Root_v2_Windows)

That was it. All done. No factory resetting etc... Like danyvw, took all of about 30min.

much thanks to the OP!

The update for ZVD has been release.
Download the LG Drivers here:LG _USB _Drivers_All_4.9.7.zip - File Shared from Box
Then download and run the LG update tool here:http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe

If you have an external SD card in your phone remove it now.

Plug your phone in and the update tool will check your phone. The "Start Updating" will turn red when the tool is done reading the phone. As shown in the picture:

Click "Start Updating" and phone will update within 30-40 minutes.

Once updated if you wish to root proceed:

Prior to rooting ZVD version do a 'Factory data reset' on your phone: Settings-Privacy-Factory data reset-Check the box to "Erase Internal SD card"-then select "Reset phone".

Download the root for your Computer operating system:
Windows:http://vulnfactory.org/public/LG_Esteem_Root_v2_Windows.zip
Linux/OSX:http://vulnfactory.org/public/LG_Esteem_Root_v2_Linux_OSX.zip

Unzip the files.

Put your phone in USB debugging: Settings-Applications-Development USB debugging

Plug your phone into computer -Run the "runautorun.exe"
AutorunLG.png

Select "Internet Connection Mode"

Open the root file you downloaded and extracted(unzipped) execute:
Windows-run.bat
Linux OSX-run.sh

CMD Window opens follow the prompts on the screen.

Disconnect the phone from the computer.
Setup your Gmail account and proceed to the "Play Store"(Market) and download ROM Manager(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager)

Open app and "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"
Then "Backup Current ROM"

Confirmed Working:
ROMS:
Still testing

Kernels:
Still testing

Themes:
Still testing

One thing to keep in mind-if you flash any ROM,Kernel, it will overwrite the fix for the power cycling(random re-boot) problem in previous SW versions.
Until all ROM & Kernels are built from ZVD source there will be problems:mad:

Email gbiggie0@gmail.com with test results.

If I left anyone out(Just HOLLA) it was not on purpose I need some zzz ;)
im on zvd and flashed the ldk-ickv1.3 rom over to my phone and i have not had any rebooting problems at all as a matter of fact ive had no problems at all kinda weird i think!

Has anyone had the problem I am having of not being able to get the battery past 98% on ZVD(Tool Version STOCK)? I have been charging at 98% for roughly an hour and a half. Yes, I have done a Factory Reset and Battery Calibration through CWM, no Kernels or Framework altarations. Also, yes came from a Stock ROM. Am just asking if anyone else has had this problem or no.

Sorry, call in 3 minutes... am doing a backup right now HaHa realized that right after I sent the message LoL. Will post back in 5 minutes if u havent called me by then.

Actually go ahead and call now, am done. Rebooting as we speak.

I cant call u back because my phone was off so it didnt come up on caller id and the voicemail doesnt give me a number so call me back if you are able to.

just upgraded everything works fine, but one thing is really bugging me lol
the fact that "google videos" can detect my root, i heard there is a apk of that same app for root users but i have to uninstall my current "google videos" app, but how do i uninstall it whern there is no option for it?
or is there any other way to get this app working? :D

thank you in advance !
