Root [GUIDES] OneClickRoot | v10J Flashable ROM | Unbrick Guide

im hoping someone can help me out if this isnt where imsupposed to post this im sory please direct me to correct location..but i have a metro pcs lg g stylo with 5.1.1 .. im trying to root .i previously attempte it using the lg one click root and phone got stuck on lg screen ..luckily i was able to fix it using the lg update tool. can someone direct me to the right toold i need to avoid what happened last time thank you

1- There is no 4.1.1 for the Stylo

2. if you meant LP 5.1.1. so NO KingRoot wont do the trick and you will end up with a brick device.

3- There's NO root method available for the Stylo on 5.1.1 :(

Whoops! My mistake. Yes I meant 5.1.1. OK thanks for the info. Is it because 5.1.1 is new so nobody has root for it? I'm confused as to why this version of LP has no root.

It has to do with the fact that the bootloader is locked. There is a lot of info in this thread if your willing to read it.
 
can someone help i tried to update from 5.0.2 when i turn on the lg flash tool it says can not connect to server try again later then it updates to about 30% and it stops and says retry

i had a little hiccup with the lg flash tool also. at first it didnt work and i tried it again and went all the way to 100% no problem...only advice i can really give is make sure all the settings are the way gt shows and try it again?
 
Does anyone know what file system updates are saved too?
It's already been downloaded but I'd like to delete it, yet I can't find it. Definitely don't want to install it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks
 
gt had said over on xda it would be in /cache but then another user found it in /data/data/com.google.android.gms/app_download/update.zip

Been searching through folders for over a hour looking for that damn file haha

The first 5.1.1 update we got back in June will be in /cache/update.zip. You'll get this one if your phone is still on 5.0.2.

The new update we just got will be in /data/data/com.google.android.gms/update.zip

nevermind I posted while you were posting. seems like you got it.
 
I've kept up with doing your update zips since the beginning.
Definitely appreciate your work.... I'd of been pissed if I did the ota & got a locked bootloader.

The bootloader can still be unlocked on 5.1.1. The option is provided in developer options under "OEM Unlock".

I'm trying to D/L the LG Flash tool in the link (for firmware update),but,it keeps opening up Google Docs (I have this problem w/several d/l from AndroidFileHost on desktop).
How do I get it do d/l?
