Guys! Try out GDE homescreen cube! AMAZING!!!

If you're playing w/multiple home screen programs, you'll want to get the free app "Home Switcher."

It shows all the home screen apps installed, allows you to set/change the default home screen, and to launch whichever one you want from it as well.

Great little app...

I just don't get this application. as far as I can tell, the only thing it did was add more home screens which I don't need and it gave me a "call button" which does exactly what the phone button did before.

doesnt seem much smoother. I just feel 3 dollars poorer.

Then return it for a refund if you are still within your 24 hour eval period.

I installed a widget in my GDE home screen called an Application Dock. I am not sure what it is meant to do, but I cannot get rid of it. Any ideas on the purpose and how to remove from the screen?

You can drag apps into it and scroll through a bunch of them rather than having to keep adding them to clutter up new home screens. To get rid of it press down on it near the side of the screen and drag it away.

can you move this widget or does it have to stay where it pops up?

sorry...figured it out lol

Thanks for the suggestion! Works great!

I just noticed another weird bug - I set up the Hero theme, 3 screens total, standard transition and made 3 screens. The weird thing is on screen #3, I cannot put anything in the top row. Any widgets that are bigger than 1 row high also will not go up there. Have any of you seen this? It's fine on all the other screens

Dunno, you might have a widget there that doesn't display properly with GDE. On a side note, I suggest you switch from standard transition to fade. It actually makes your home screens switch much smoother! I was experiencing quite a bit of lag with the standard transition.

My only two complaints so far have been the landscape mode bugs (seems to be theme dependent) and the Wallpaper position for anything other than the normal transitions. In Cube, Fade and Stretch, it throws the wallpaper way off center. But it is fine using Normal. Hopefully that is fixed soon. Other than that, i really like this App. Best Home Replacement out there right now.

I agree, my biggest pet peeve with it right now... would be nice to have custom wallpapers depending on the size of your desktop (how many screens) and have it center on your main screen

Just adding the phone button to the bottom menu is worth it. B4 it was a pita to have to flip to the home screen just to press the phone button.

If you set it up with 3 screens it is exactly like the default except it is much smoother.

Fade is quirky for me. The background flickers and goes black often. If i change wallpaper or on initial boot up I always get a GDE force close, but it immediately loads back up. Other than that with regular slide it works fine with a ton of widgets loaded..

i have had GDE installed for several days now and absolutely love it. I am glad some one started a post about this home alternative. I have tried a bunch and up till now i liked open home but i love GDE!! Im not really fond of any of the themes for it ive tried so far. I actually like the stock GDE theme better. I appreciate all the good advice i have just learned from reading all 3 pages of this thread. thanks for all the cool tricks and shortcuts that i have learned from yall.

It doesnt seem to be an unsupported widget. I can put any of my stuff on any screen except 3. I tried 4 screens and 2 screens. I tried clearing everything off screen 3 and just putting a regular app shortcut there.. nothing seems to work for top row. any ideas?

I like GDE but I can't use it because my favorite widget, Weather Widget (donate version w/ Sense like Flip clock and weather), won't load. I place the widget and it just sits there forever saying "loading data" but it never finishes. If they can fix that I would stick with it.
