Title says it all, I'm running FlyX on top of the original leaked OTA. How do I get the new official OTA on my phone?

If you want to continue to be rooted then I would suggest waiting. With the changes to the bootloader its much safer to wait at this point. If you update there is no safety net for when you get caught in a bootloop

With the new development of finding a new bootloader, is birdman still even working on an update.zip to go from leaked 2.2 to OTA 2.2? Will that still be possible or should we just bit the bullet and spf back to 2.1 and then do OTA?

according to his tweet, yes.

and NO, I would not touch that update. I trust in Birdman. Moto is purposely trying to brick phones.

an update.zip with the bootloader stuff taken out should very much be possible.

I'm running the 2.3.15 leak and am just going to wait it out.
Agreed. I'm on the first leak.

Not that much different between that and OTA.

I think I'm going to wait it out and see what Birdman comes up with.

Hopefully, they'll be a path that doesn't include wiping the device first and gets us to equivalent to OTA.

What about this would make you think it doesnt look promising? Just curious as to why you see it that way.

This is a conversation between MrBirdMan and Wicked_beaver

@wicked_beav my "fix" wont work sadly, i was running tests to see if my idea would work when i figured out the signatures changed

EDIT: That's what he said about downgrading the bootloader, I must have read the conversation wrong. Maybe the custom update.zip is still being worked on, I'm not sure.

The bootloader issue will be interesting to follow. Im sure the update.zip will be created, but most likely put on the back burner. Im sure priority is going to helping out all these people with a droid x paper weight.
With a leaked version out I don't know why there was such a panic to get the ota Froyo. You would have thought Motorola was giving away free rebates.

Since when did OTAFroyo become the new heroin.

The "Thanks" is for the lol.

I tried to load the OTA this morning before I left for work because I had not installed any of the leaks due to my experience with the Eris. I'm extremely relieved now though that the Boostrapper kept me from making a terrible mistake.

I am still holding out hope for the custom update.zip that birdman made reference to on the day the OTA came out. Until then, I am content with what I have.
