Root Hard factory reset

I am having some issues with my touch screen. On the top of the phone I am unable to touch a small portion of the screen. I took it to a sprint store and they told me to perform a hard factory reset. I am rooted and want to make sure that I don't brick my phone. I am also giving the phone to my daughter and I have already taken out the sd card but would like for her to have a clean phone just with root.

Since the phone is rooted, you could just flash a rooted stock ROM. Flashing a rooted stock ROM will be like starting with a clean slate. You would need to wipe the phone's data/cache/dalvik cache in recovery before flashing.

Which recovery do you have?

1.find the latest 5.07 ota rom download and move to the sd card
2.make a nandroid backup
3.wipe everything except for the sd card (dalvik cache, cache, system, and data) do it three times(CWM sucks at wiping)
4.flash the rom
5.reboot.
