Has anybody experienced A significant decrease of battery life in the latest version of Android?

Sorry if I am new around here, sort of figured that this would be the right forum for posting general questions about Android. I have a Samsung Galaxy S IV for T-Mobile. Clean factory restore (meaning whatever was originally put on there, is there of course). So I disabled all the bloat ware that they put in but every now and then I still experience A big decrease in battery life. Is it because it's a quad core? Is it because android is poorly optimized for it? I don't know... Just need somebody's opinion on this! Thanks!

Seriously, in some cases when I browse the web even it drops within 1% every minute. :confused::mad:
 
I moved your thread hopefully someone in here will be able to assist you! Also you can check battery usage in the main settings and see what is your using your battery. Do you see anything in there that is not normal?
 
Well, it seems that the android system is consuming quite a bit of battery. Second from the screen. Other than that it doesn't seem to be abnormal. I've used Android before so I kind of know my way around. Just wanted to know if anybody else is experiencing this issue.
 
Some apps can decrease your battery life. Especially if there's lots of graphics, animations, and such. Tango app is a big battery killer

I am afraid that when you say the latest version, you actually mean the latest version for T-Mobile. This is now a very old version of Android 4.4.2 by worldwide standards as it is running the NB4, FEB; firmware and there have been numerous updates since February and the latest S4 releases are on NG8, JUL: See, here...

You could install BetterBatteryStats, free from the Play Store, to check if it is an incompatible app/setting or the T-Mobile version of the Samsung firmware which is causing the drain.
 
I'm on NG3 and very happy with the battery life. Hopefully T-Mobile are working on a new update for you guys.

I have noticed a great deal of battery drain when I am roaming in NW Wisconsin where there are few cell towers. The two closest to me there are equidistant from my location. I think it is due to constantly searching for a connection. When I got back home, the battery seems to hold up better.
