Help Has anyone done custom caller images?

you know how if you use an image in a contact, that gets gets partially hidded under text at the top when someone rings?

Has anyone done any custom images with a border added to top etc, so that the image they want to show, shows correctly?
If so, do you have pixel sizes/ratios?

I figure someone must have done the playing before me, to save me some messing about.

I know I crop all my contact pics at a good distance, usually helps...but thats all I got for you.

Basically you just need to leave some extra space above the person's head that will get overlaid with a partially transparent border on the contact screen. Nothing you do will improve the quality though....
