Has anyone downloaded the lastest Google Play store?

I downloaded it but it you dont get the full UI in UK yet (only in the US i 'think') so i cant really judge it but lookin at the screenshots im not sure i like it. It looks kinda "cold" to me

Is that a one-tap thing (remove the apps that arent currently installed) or do you have to go through and select what ones to remove?
 
Don't know about the one-tap yet, but I like that when you choose to install an app a window to proceed pops up instead of reloading another page that you have to go back from afterwards.
 
I opened the Google Play Store today on my Razr HD and noticed the UI had changed. I like it, Google seems to have streamlined it a bit and it looks great.

I love it. :)

This is why Android is so awesome — options & choices. Now everything is just big and better laid out. Intuitive ...wouldn't you agree.

Who knows, you might get to like it after awhile. You just have to be open for changes. Then again, if you don't like it, you have all right to feel that way.
 
It's just so.... WHITE and BRIGHT!
I don't like it at all.
Tried the inverted apk as instructed and mine didn't change. Still this hideous white.

It looks like crap. There's nothing on that screen I'd want. And I'll bet Google still hasn't learned how to sort things so they make sense.

If you haven't gotten the update yet, I checked and apps were still set NOT to update by default, and the "what's new" tab was still there. Looks like crap, though, and doesn't seem any better organized to me. The old design looked much nicer.
 
Hi, I downloaded it, then i found another app on the net called "BlackMarket4.0.25" which gives you a black background and it looks good.
 
I remember readin about Jellybean when it was first launched and reading that devs were gona be able to push updates to apps that only contain the extra code and not the whole app. For example with a game update, youll only have to download the updated part and not the whole 1Gb game.
Anyone know anythin about that and if the new store brings this capability?
 
Yeah I remember hearing about that too. I assumed it was already an option, and devs just weren't using it.


Either way, I wish it was more widespread.
 
I don't want apps to update automatically - sometimes the changes are not what I want. The original app works the way I want it to. I've seen a few mistakes, fortunately the dev was on another forum and had a response posted there immediately.

Everyone can make mistakes - admit it, dammit and don't act like your stuff is exempt. Not all need their hands held to make the app function.
 
Yeah it would be good man. Maybe it takes more time for the dev' or maybe it only works with jellybean so there would have to be two different updates

This isn't new. I'm using v3.10.14 and this is included in my release. The only difference being my version has a circle with a line through it (think "no smoking" sign) and v4 made it an X. Two taps to delete from list - delete and confirm. Overall I do like the update and will be sticking with v4.

This has been in practice for a while now. I notice a lot of the apps I update don't actually download the full file, but 20% or so. It doesn't make it clear that it's only downloading a portion, but you can notice it. I don't watch every app, but I'm fairly certain it is dependant on the dev to incorporate this "feature."

Understandable. Probably why you can disable this feature in the settings menu. :rolleyes::D:cool::thumbup:
 
Thanks man. I suppose if anyone was gona use the feature it would be Google devs so il pay more attention next time a Google app gets updated :)
