has anyone switched from EVO to the EPic?

I currently have the Evo and tis good but I miss the keyboard and the screen doesn't do to well in sunlight. Other than that everything else works great but I am curious to see if anyone has made the swap and regretted it? I don't want to switch to the Epic and then want to go back to my Evo :)
 
if you do a quick search.. there are plenty that have gone to the epic..and vise versa.

some loved it.. some went back.

it seems to me.. that there are more that go from EPic to EVO.. and not regret it.

to answer your question.. the epic screen does as good in sun as evo.
 
I prefer the EVO even though I hate not having a physical keyboard..so that should say a lot. IMO the Epic keyboard is worthless because the keys are flat. You can't differentiate between them by feel which pretty much defeats the purpose of a physical keyboard.
 
Evo on launch day. Epic on launch day. Both for a bit. Evo is gone. Don't miss a thing. Even more so with froyo officially on the epic now. And I peferred the Epic's screen in the sunlight

I always look at the keys, even on a full computer keyboard, so its not really a problem for me (yes, I failed typing 101).
 
I type 80+ per minute. Actually took typing in high school. On a good keyboard I can fly. The epic is a little too tightly spaced for me, but still worlds ahead of onscreen. I can actually look at what I'm writing instead of the keys. And with the extra real estate thanks to the hard keyboard, I'mmuch more productive creating and edting office docs and writing long emails. I could never live with a slate, and I've tried with the Hero and Evo. Actually looking forward to playing with the Arrive.

i went from the Evo to the Epic, I was wishing I had my Evo back until the official 2.2.1 came out for the Epic. I just wish my phone didn't freeze though, it's pretty annoying.

As a programmer, speed typing doesn't matter. What does matter is exact syntax and placement of characters within a document. So its just hunt and peck for me.
 
I have had an EVO since launch day. Went to an EPIC a few months ago. That lasted a few weeks. However with more stable leaks of 2.2.1 i am now permanently back to an EPIC. The screen is more vibrant, overall its more responsive.
With the now stable 2.2 releases for the EPIC its a whole lot better of a device then it was on 2.2 I keep my EVO as a back up and last weekend i went back to it just to see if i was missing anything, nope, i am back on the EPIC.
I also rarely use the physical keyboard.
 
I've had both EVO (launch day) and the EPIC (launch day)...similar situation as dbpaddler. I'm happy with both phones honestly. Each do things well in their own right. I love the large screen of the EVO but that's about it...I ended up using the Epic more because of the keyboard, AMOLED screen, speed, and flash (now that it has Froyo). I'm waiting for the SGS2 to come out and upgrade my EVO to that and give my EVO to my younger brother.
 
As cary said, thre is nothing wrong with the evo. It just comes down to preferences, and with 2.2 out on the Epic, many peoples' gripes with the Epic have been eliminated. Unless you have your heart set on doing hdmi out, there really isn't a feature that sets one apart from the other. You get a sate with a larger screen and a little more accurate color or you get a slider with slightly smaller screen that is more vibrant but less accurate. If you like running stock, Sense refines the basic apps a bit more to give it more of a webOS/iphone feel, but there are more functional apps in the market that can do a bit more. Heck, neither's stock email will do imap idle which is just odd to me.
