Root Has anyone tried Andromeda?

I flashed it last night as well and I've not encountered this.... The only thing I've noticed was my power button (after taking a pic with it:) ), stopped working. Apparently, there is a 1.2 version/update now.

I've found the 1.1 update. Any idea where the 1.2 is?

Also, for those saying you need to Master Clear and reflash... from a lot of contributors, I've read once you done the initial flash to custom ROM, you can just load the new ROM into the base directory, do the volume/power buttons boot and load whatever ROM you want.

That's how I got Cognition back on my phone, after experiencing the Andromeda bugs. Didn't even have to remove my SD card. Loaded perfectly and without any issues afterward.

I just upgraded to it (v1.2) and it seems to work well - Whatever bugs it did have, must be gone 'cause everything is just running flawless for me. What specifically was giving you problems? If you hadn't flashed to stock before the install, I'd recommend it - I installed it last night and its been absolutely rock solid.

Here's the link to the official thread:
[Rom][Team Komin] Andromeda 1.2 FINAL based off i9010 armani As Good As it Gets .... - xda-developers

The update is an attachment to post #1.

Its easy to apply the update:

- copy the update file to the root directory of the phone
- hold power button.... choose recovery... the phone will reboot into recovery
- choose INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD
- then choose CHOOSE ZIP FROM SD CARD
- select the "Andromeda_1.1_or_2.1_to_1.2_or_2.2_cwm.zip"

After it finished, go back, then into Advanced, then "Wipe Dalvik Cache". Then back one more time and reboot the phone.

NOTE: After I installed, the phone rebooted and sat at the "Giorgio Armani" screen for 2-3 minutes. Everything works fine, no issues to report.

Well, its up and running. Took flashing twice before it wasn't constantly giving me FCs. Also had to input my phone list manually.

I really like the ROM (its blazing fast)... so I hope it keeps working for me. If not, its back to Cognition.

For whatever reason, I basically had to restore most of my data manually - My screen layouts, preferences didn't restore properly with Titanium Backup, but that's ok - At least the apps themselves restored.

Hope all goes well - I've been running this now for 2-3 days and it's been rock solid - I haven't had a single Force Quit yet and since upgrading to 2.2, haven't seen anything that didn't look/perform 100%.

I just put this on my phone lastnight. Its awesome. I did notice the swype force closing on me too, but that was only after trying to use TiBu to restore my contacts. If you delete the contacts, the problem goes away. I don't know whats cauing that problem. Its ok for me though because I have all the vcard files saved in a contacts folder on my computer. Just mount it and drag and drop them into the sd folder, then open you contacts and hit menu to import from sd. Thats been my only issue so far.

I wonder if its something wrong with the backup I did, or theres just a bug in the ROM? Also, you may notice your contacts will hang at certain percentages while importing. If you let it run, it will still finish. Don't stop it, or force close it, its running.

The biggest rule is only use the "RESTORE MISSING APPS + DATA". Also, save your contacts to your SD card and you'll not have any problems because you never have to restore them.

I've been running it now for about 2 weeks (off and on, but keep coming back) and it is rock solid on my phone. I wound up flashing the JK4 modem for call quality and I've started playing with the boot/shutdown animations.

I still will have to try Serendipity, but out of everything I've tried, I really like the custom-yet-still-semi-stock-feel of Andromeda.
