Help Have unlock code (Captivate)...how to enter it?

I have a Captivate, locked to AT&T. I have the unlock code (paid to acquire it...couldn't figure out how to get it through other methods).

Tried to follow the instructions given, but I never come up with a place to enter the code.

I've booted up with no SIM and with an inactive SIM from another carrier, but neither methods bring up an option to enter the code.

Any thoughts?

Sucks you had to pay for it. Only takes a few seconds to get it for free.

Yeah, I don't know why I had problems getting the code through the method you posted; like I mentioned, I have the code. I just don't know where or how to install it.

I'll add that when booting up with a non-ATT SIM, an "Attention" notification pops up:
(SIM not provisioned MM#2)

With an "OK" button to press. Nothing happens after "OK" pressed.

Any time I've applied an unlock code, I've used an active SIM from another carrier-any reason you're using an inactive SIM?

The only other SIM I have is from an old account. I was going to look at other carriers AFTER I unlocked the phone.

You may have to borrow and active sim then. Once it's unlocked, it's unlocked-you can do whatever you want then.
